St. Feuillen’s centuries old brewing traditions combine with Green Flash Brewing Company’s cutting edge brewing techniques to form our first collaborative brew: Bière De L’Amitié (Friendship Brew). A blond Belgian collaboration ale, brewed with St. Feuillen’s traditional yeast and spices. For a modern twist, we add rye malt, wheat malt, and American Amarillo hops. At the crossroads of collaboration, we dry-hopped the brew for more zest. It’s old-world Belgian Abbey-style meets new-world American craft brewing - and a friendship is formed.

Draft at Pizzeria Paradiso, courtesy of Greg - thank you sir! Very pale yellow, solid lacing. Aroma of freshly cut grass. Taste is very strong hops, but not too bitter. Good balance and complexity.

Sampled on tap at Bottleworks, pours golden with a white head. Aroma of yeast, grains, straw, pear, a little citrus and spice. Flavour of sour apples, pear, licorice, yeast and bready malt. Very solid.

A: The pour is a hazy pale yellow color with a huge white head. S: The nose is of sweet light fruits such as apples and pears, grass, and light malty sweetness. There is a touch of metal in there too, for some reason, along with subtle yeast esters providing some spice. T: Sweet and bready malts with plenty of green apples, sweet pears, and floral honey-like notes. There are some nice grassy hop notes as well. M: The body is on the light end of medium with a very lively carbonation. D: Like pretty much everything else Green Flash does, this was a winner. Very nice and easy to drink (especially for such a high ABV beer).

Bottle - Fruity, with some grassy hops and a yeasty finish. Clear gold with a thin bubbly head. Lots of fruit esters, light grains and some spice. A big beer with a soft rounded velvety taste.

750 c&c from South Bay Drug. Cork ejected with a bang. Pours dishwater gold with a 4 finger frothy/foamy off-white head. Smells like a tripel; kandi, yeast/spice. Medium body; frothy carb. There’s a strong spice/herb/hop flavor that is dominant. Or maybe that’s rye. It’s incredibly floral/herbal, and it’s even bitter. So lots of complex flavor. It’s strongly flavored. Finishes like a dry hopped tripel. Excellent.

750 ml bottle poured a clear yellow with a lasting white head. Aromas of straw, pear, citrus, light earthiness and light spice. Palate was light bodied and crisp with a dry finish. Flavors of straw, pear, pineapple and citrus with a crisp dry lingering citrus finish.

Corked bottle. Poured a cloudy deep amber with an average rocky off-white head that lasted and produced excellent lacing. Moderate to heavy tart fruit, hops and yeast aroma. Medium body with a smooth texture and soft carbonation. Medium to heavy complex bittersweet and yeast flavor with a medium to heavy bittersweet finish of moderate to long duration. Exceeded my expectations.

Lubiere (14151) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - NOV 16, 2013
A golden amber ale with a thin white head. In aroma, sweet fruity malt with nice citrusy floral hops , California meets Belgium, nice and silky. In mouth, a great Belgian IPA with fruity esters, floral hops, citrus pulp, coriander, nice, complex and refreshing. Sampler at Battle of the Belgians at Jimmys 43 (as Belgian coast ipa).

argo0 (14127) - Washington DC, USA - FEB 22, 2011
