750 ml corked bottle. Brewed in Belgium.
The cork exits with a boom.
It is one of the best looking beers that I have seen. I poured it into my Duvel glass and it pretty much looks like Duvel. It is a clear gold with tons of carbonation bubbles racing form the etched D logo int eh bottom of the glass. The head is huge, foamy and white. It slowly recedes to some really nice lacing.
The smell is unique. It is almost skunky at first. Then it becomes a spicy hoppy monster. It is definitely in the realm of Duvel Tripel hop, though spicier and not as hoppy imo.
The flavor is pretty good. IT is sweeter and less hoppy than the smell. It has a big sweetness that carries some spicy yeast and some citrus with it. IT has some nice, subtle malt flavors under the yeast. The hops come in with a mild finishing bitterness and some added spiciness.
It is a solid Belgian Strong Pale Ale for sure.

Enormous head. Spicy aroma. The taste is spicy and yeasty, which gives it a sweet spicy balance. Pepper, cardamon, rye, orange citrus,. A bit of funk. Most pleasant, nicely hopped, a little aging did not hurt it. Excellent drinkability, great with fish. deyholla (12276) - Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA - JUN 13, 2011
On tap. Poured a slightly hazy gold with an off-white head that lasted throughout the beer. Aroma had a good amount of grain and yeast with a bit of spice, citrus hops and light fruit. Flavor was similar with more of a light fruit note coming through and the hops bringing a bit of bitterness to round out the beer. daknole (11402) - Scottsdale, Arizona, USA - JAN 19, 2011
