Very spicy, anise-ish flavor and aroma. Good carbonation. Yeasty, bubblegum’ish with a licorice flavor clearly apparent on the palate. Full-bodied good belgian beer.
LCI. Uit de fles geschonken. Bijzonder bier: drop in de neus, kruidig-bitter in de mond. Geen hoogvlieger, niet onaardig. humpah (381) - Jyväskylä, FINLAND - JAN 6, 2018
Small bottle from Alko, pouring deep red color. Aroma of sweetness, licorice, anise, malts, caramel, sugar, yeast, spices and alcohol. Taste is quite boozy, strong body and taste, slight bitterness. Alcoholy aftertaste. Quite heavy and boozy, and not the biggest friend of this kind of sweetness, so a slight disappointment. rusos (801) - Stupava, SLOVAK REPUBLIC - JAN 6, 2018

Keg @ Bishops Arms, Hornsgatan. Deep mahogany, tanned head that disappears completely after some time, poor lacing. Pleasant sweet malty and fruity aroma, dark dried fruits, caramel, mild spicy, resinous and earthy. Silky mouthfeel, soft carbonation, full bodied. Taste follows the aroma, pleasant sweet and malty, dried fruits, herbal, nutmeg and some earthy and woody bitterness for balance. Dryish and warming finish. tmdaines (187) - Stretford, Greater Manchester, ENGLAND - DEC 29, 2017
Beautiful dark ruby beer, with a tinged red head. Very rich and boozy. You notice the ABV. A tad too winey for my palate. Notes for aniseed and other medicinal qualities.

Appearance: Pours unclear dark brown with big and foam off-white head that quickly dissipats, no lacing.
Aroma: Roasted malt, dark fruit, caramel and pepper, with alcohol notes.
Taste: Roasted malt, caramel, spice and dark fruits. Start with subtle bitterness and sourness, somewhat coffee-like, followed with moderate sweetness and alcohol notes. Lingering sweet spicy finish.
Mouthfeel: Full bodied, smooth, low carbonated.

Bottle from Beautiful Beers, drunk at home. Mahogany and clear with a large, full, cream-coloured head. Yeast, chocolate shavings, cinnamon, stone fruit, chestnut in the aroma. Strong sweet taste with boozy vegetal notes in the first half of the sip, mellowing to a balanced toasty finish. Dates, cherries and caramel in the aftertaste. Highly carbonated but body is fairly thin. Excellent beer but by St Feuillien's standards, not one of their best. Aukedebier (41) - KAUTTUA, FINLAND - DEC 26, 2017
Bought at drankdozijn.nl in a 750ml bottle with cork. Appearance; Dark amber colored beer with an light brown head, which stays pretty long. Nose; Brown sugar, Belgian yeast and some toasted malts and an inch of licorice . Taste; Brown sugar, licorice tingling yeast and a good bitter finish from the hops. Alcohol well hidden, as most good Belgian ale's. Carbonation is quite present, but it does not make it out of balance. The body is medium to full, which gives a long finis. Interesting beer, but the licorice (or is it laurel leave) is quite dominant for my taste. SilkTork (5926) - Southampton, United Kingdom, Hampshire, ENGLAND - DEC 26, 2017
330ml dark bottle, unfiltered, from BeerWulf. Yummy. Oh, this is so much my sort of beer. I love the marriage of malt and yeast, especially when fermented at a high temperature. I love malt. That's why I like beer. This has clove and licorice playing around with the malt flavours. Kinda interesting.
