This beer has a generous head - compact and firm. Its slightly brown colour is the result of the roasted barley. It has a dark ruby brown colour and a very intense aroma. The aromatic herbs and spices used greatly enhance its delicious smell. This beer is full-bodied with a smoothness that is the result of the synergy of caramelized malts, carefully controlled fermentation and long cold storage. St Feuillien Cuvée de Noël has a very subtle bitterness that is the dominant flavour in this harmonious ale that strikes a perfect balance between all the different ingredients.

750ml bottle. Nice, big head that lasts a while. Carbonation is solid with a flavor that isn’t overwhelming for a 9% abv. Mid-brown color and a floral aroma that fulfills its promise as a tasty brew. Very enjoyable.

2013 bottle. First off, once the cage and cork were removed, the beer started a slow gush. Poured in to my glass, it kept on oozing from the bottle. Watch out for that. (pulled straight from the fridge) It pours a murky rust colour, great head of foam (big surprise??), good lacing. Smells of dark fruits, caramel malt, figs, light cardboard. (oxidation) Caramel malt and dark fruits up front, figs, oxidation, candi sugar tastes. Must have been quite the brew a couple of years ago. Medium body with not so high carbonation as I reckoned when I started this little adventure. Overall, I find it very enjoyable.

50 cl Bottle shared with Lena. Dark red color with tiny tanned head (Christmas appearance) Aroma, not that strong. Some bread, christmas spices, orange, cloves. Taste has more power than the aroma. Cloves, some other christmas spice, (cant remember) some alcohol. The aftertaste has some banana. First christmas beer of the season Lena would have given this around 3.8

At Café Botteltje, Ostend. Pours hazy dark brown with a diminishing, beige head. The aroma contains licorice, candi sugar, caramel, malt, yeast and spices. It tastes medium to heavy sweet, light spicy bitter and very light sour. Long, alcoholic finish. Full body, oily texture, fizzy carbonation. Delivers what you can expect from a classic Christmas ale, but delivers it well.

Bottle. Not bad stuff. Not great stuff. Not easy drinking. As you would expect from the style.

Had it from a 75cl bottle with cork. Well-crafted Strong Ale with nice, complex flavors, not only good for Christmas.

Version von 2016 aus der Flasche 2016-12 getrunken. Sehr schönes belgisches Weihnachtsbier. Überraschende Steigerung nach der enttäuschenden 2012er Version.

Dark brown beer with a huge beige foam. Spicy and malty aroma. Semi-sweet, very malty, a bit syrupy caramel. Medium bodied.

Erg lekker winterbier, kruidig en stevig van smaak. Mooie donkere kleur en schuimkraag. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

PREZENTACJA: klarowne, brązowo-rubinowe, obfita żółtawa piana opada do trwałej milimetrowej warstwy, nie oblepia szkła;
AROMAT: słodki, kandyzowane owoce, przejrzałe brzoskwinie, syrop klonowy, pumpernikiel, rodzynki, rum;
ODCZUCIE: ciało średnie, wysoko nasycone, lekko puszyste, ale też szczypiące w język, troszkę wykleja podniebienie, alkohol subtelnie rozgrzewa przełyk;
SMAK: mleczna czekolada, metal, syrop klonowy, niska drewniana goryczka;
OGÓLNIE: bardzo pijalne, mimo słodyczy i dużej zawartości alkoholu; ma świetny zapach przywodzący na myśl barley wine, smak psuje silna metaliczność.

Ritzn (1709) - GERMANY - MAR 12, 2017
Murky brown with medium brown head. Aroma is christmas spices, raisins, quince, figs, slightly burnt caramel, phenols, quadrupel stuff. Taste is intense bitter phenols and spicy yeasty stuff, some fig sweetness. The late bitter stuff ruins it a bit. Wild yeasts gone wild here.
