3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours clear copper with a surprisingly small and quickly diminishing head for a Belgian ale. Aroma of sweet malts, caramel, dried fruits, yeast. Taste is quite sweet and spicy as Belgians often are. Sweet, caramel maltiness and dried fruitiness provide the flavours. Palate is disappointingly thin for a Belgian beer, barely medium bodied; I would have hoped for a fuller body. Also the finish doesn’t offer much. Low carbonation, sticky. Flavours are nice but the palate and depth aren’t up to the high standards of this beer style. Not a bad beer but I’ve had better from this brewery.

1.1 AROMA 1/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 1/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 7/20
Solid white foam. Smells a lot of fruit and only fruit. The taste is characterized by fruit, a little hop and a distinctly perfumed taste and slightly caramel. Taste is unfortunately too much fruity and too little of the beer, and is not recommended by me.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle. Pours hazy dark amber with airy but stable beige head. Clear aroma of malt, caramel and fruit, with notes of hops and yeast. Sweetish flavour of caramel malt, with pronounced fruity notes, complemented by bitter, hoppy touches. Estery and slightly bitter aftertaste. Decent and well-balanced although not top-notch. I onow I am drinking it out of season, but, what the hell then :-)

3.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Tastes as Paskeol Abbey Ale. Easter beer with off-white, thick, coarse head and deep reddish amber colour with orange hue, clear but hazy with deposit. Very perfumey aroma of aniseed, mint, field flowers, tobacco, peaches, tulips, ’speculoos’, bread, rosewater; honeyish and caramelly malt sweetness in the mouth, sweetish with subtle fruitiness, slick and somewhat oily mouthfeel, mild floral hoppy finish with aromatic spiciness (aniseed). Good, if you’re into spice beers.
