Grand Cru is a speciality beer carefully crafted by Belgium’s St Feuillien Brewery. This extra-blond amber nectar masterpiece undergoes refermentation in the bottle, resulting in a beer endowed with unforgettable character. The secret lies in the unique combination of the most noble hops and the finest aromatic ingredients. Grand Cru differs from other beers in the range by its absence of spices. Its full, white head is light and frothy, and when poured it creates a subtle lace effect. The very pale colour of Grand Cru lends clarity and brilliance to its body.
Grand Cru’s delicate nose is a veritable cascade of hoppy aromas with hints of fruitiness coupled with subtlety and sheer richness.
When savoured, the first sip is light and intriguing. The next impression is one of a slight bitterness full of captivating nuances. When it hits the palate, Grand Cru creates a lingering moment of hoppiness, rounded off by an intense yet pleasant bitterness.

Bottle. Slightly hazy golden with a nice white head. Citrus, zest, pepper, mint, yellow plums and other goodies in the nose. Medium sweetness backed up by a touch of crispy bitterness and carbonation sourness. Medium body and carbonation. Lovely aroma!

Bottle poured into St. Feuillien glass. Commonshawn, rosskyle, samalito, and dubtully also present at Dulle Griet. Golden with effervescence and a slight haze. Nice, half finger white head. Aroma is spicy and yeasty with a vibrant nature. Maybe a little banana. Taste follows the lead of the aroma with tripel like qualities mixing with hefeweizen style banana/wheat notes. Slight citrus and maybe a little metallic but it doesn’t ruin the experience. Very delicious with an effervescent mouthfeel and lingering spicy aftertaste. Worth seeking out.

UPDATED: FEB 10, 2017 From Bruxelles airport; pours golden with big white head; aroma is banana, some spicy, gentle hoppy and that delicate belgian aroma so hard to describe; taste is fruity, banana, malty, slightly spicy, hoppy perfume like, low bitter finish with some spice and alcohol; mouthfeel is creamy with medium carbonation and rather thin body; doesn?t feel like almost 10%

Bottle. Hazy golden color with white head. Aroma is dough, spicy yeasts, touch of banana. Taste is sweet dough, spicy yeasts, esters, sirupy, sticky. Silky mouthfeel, sweet finish. Too sweet for me, but well-executed.
