COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Grand Cru is a speciality beer carefully crafted by Belgiums St Feuillien Brewery. This extra-blond amber nectar masterpiece undergoes refermentation in the bottle, resulting in a beer endowed with unforgettable character. The secret lies in the unique combination of the most noble hops and the finest aromatic ingredients. Grand Cru differs from other beers in the range by its absence of spices. Its full, white head is light and frothy, and when poured it creates a subtle lace effect. The very pale colour of Grand Cru lends clarity and brilliance to its body.
Grand Crus delicate nose is a veritable cascade of hoppy aromas with hints of fruitiness coupled with subtlety and sheer richness.
When savoured, the first sip is light and intriguing. The next impression is one of a slight bitterness full of captivating nuances. When it hits the palate, Grand Cru creates a lingering moment of hoppiness, rounded off by an intense yet pleasant bitterness.

Tart aroma, green apples, belgian yeast. Looks nice, long lasting white head, light yellow and haze coming from the yeast settled at the bottom of the bottle. Taste has sour and sweet notes upfront, spice in the middle and finish and a distinctive taste of belgian yeast throughout. Finish has an interesting sweetness to it, as well as some alcohol coming through and a hint of hops. The slight sourness keeps this one fairly refreshing. Heavily carbonated and medium bodied. Not bad.

Bottle from Belga sorok boltja, Budapest. Clear golden lots of carbonation lots of foamy white head. Aroma is floral hops and fruity champagne. Mouthfeel is yuge co2, really like champagne, sweet marzipan and floral hops dominate. Aftertaste is lemony hops, not as good as the initial taste. Overall really tasty and strong. Cool beer. Have to say I really enjoyed almost all of the St. Feuillien beers.

Yeasty and grainy aroma with moderate hints of banana, brown bread and berries. Hoppy character with a lot of carbonation. Some vinous notes unfold as well. Interessant, aber auch nicht so die Offenbarung :)

DraftDodger (1414) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - APR 8, 2017
Copenhagen 8/4 2017. 75 cl bottle from Kvickly in Middelfart impressive selection of beers. Printed bottle with a lot of gold to give the impression that this is "Grand Cru" which by the way is a unregulated term in regard to beer. Pours hazy pale yellow with big bubbly white head - almost like Champagne. Settles as 0,5 cm thick layer of foam. Moderate lacing. Aroma is is sweetish. Marzipan, banana, moldy cellar and a light tart fruitiness. Medium carbonation and soft, creamy palate. Flavor is on the sweet side - but not overwhelmingly so. Medium sweet followed by light bitterness. Aftertaste is sweetish with an alcoholic burn. A quite light no nonsense Belgian - which can get you seriously drunk.

Bouteille:Golden, not completely clear, smaller - quite stable - off-white head; archetypal citrussy-fruity nose with yeasty and grainy spots and shy traces of alcohol; moderate to solid sweet-bitter flavour, medium to full bodied, not soft, but a bit tart; lingering - a bit drier - lemony-yeasty finish, accompanied by warming alcohol and not accompanied by the promised "noble" hops. Average belgian fizz...
