Clear dark chestnut brown beer, big creamy beige head, dense, pretty stable, non adhesive. Aroma: caramel, oxidized, drief fruits, bit sweet. MF: soft carbon, medium body. Taste: sweet start, lots of caramel, overripe banana, some chocolate, spicy. Aftertaste: oxidized, raisins, sweet, lots of caramel, malty, milk chocolate.
New Scotch-style ale reviving an all but forgotten style in Belgium. Yellowish beige, stable head, very dark chestnut colour. Sweet and malty aroma, dates, raisins, chocolate, candi sugar, sherry, soy sauce; dark fruits in the mouth, sweet and smooth, even a bit syrupy, resinous mouthfeel, light roasted bitterness in the finish as is to be expected from the style. I appreciate any attempt to revive old and dying beer styles but apart from that, this is a very decent Belgian ale. Beerhunter111 (21763) - P´Castle, GERMANY - APR 24, 2014

Tap @ Café Morshuis Albergen. Deep dark brown color. Apple syrup and caramel in the aroma. Malty sweet flavor with apple and coughing syrup. Just a hint of roast. Decent. Borresteijn (7339) - Zaandam, NETHERLANDS - JUL 13, 2012
Tap sample at In de Wildeman. Reddish brown colour, light beige head. Aroma of fruity esters, fusels, alcohol, caramel. Flavour is rather sweet, sugar, typical SF, caramel, light toasted malts, bitter alcohol, light fruity, light malty and alcohol bitter finish. Light to medium-bodied. Not bad for SF, but again too sweet to be really enjoyable.

Dark ruby red and a big tan head. Toffee, nutty, toast, Belgian yeast but not super expressive. Medium sweet palate and nicer taste. Light roasty end. Dried fruits. Still refreshing due to the carbonation and hop backup. Nice! (On tap at Ledig Erf) deanso (10178) - Chiang Mai, THAILAND - JUL 5, 2012

On tap at Wildeman, Amsterdam 2/06/2012. Deep amber in coo our with a big, off-white head. Candy sugar sweetness, some floral hops and a decent, bitter finish. Fine. MrHangover (4690) - Den Haag, NETHERLANDS - JUN 22, 2012
Draft. A dark red, ruby coloured beer with a mocha coloured, medium sized head. Malty aroma followed by licorice and molasses. Flavour has a full sweetened body with malty sweetness in presence as well. Very sweet, but still easy drinkable and not cloying at all.. Nice suprise...
