St-Feuillien’s Saison is what the Belgians call a beer of the terroir, a traditional farmhouse ale with all the rich savour of the fertile land of southern Belgium. Saison, a warm golden blonde beer, is a top-fermented classique. Thanks to secondary fermentation in the bottle, Saison has an unmistakable flavour full of rich nuances and a slight tang.Judge for yourself. 750s and 20L kegs only. In first instance, for export to the USA only.

Bottle from Beerhawk. Looks clear orange-gold with a frothy white head. Aromas of sharp, bitter hop, dusty sherbet and musty yeast. Taste is peppery hop, dry yeast with pale, soft malt smoothing things out. It’s a light, sharp and dry palate on the tongue with an oily mouthfeel. I’m not a fan of Saisons and I’m not the biggest fan of this so it must be doing everything right. This is a dry and spicy beer which nevertheless remains refreshing. But it’s just not my thing. Yet.

Bottle at home. I am embarassed to say that I lost my Saison virginity with this; and what a lovely beer. A nice spicy flavour, a very good mouthfeel and very refreshing.

Oranjegoud bier met witte kraag. Citrus en brood in de neus. Fruitig in de mond. Bitter, licht zoet, licht zuur. Beetje prikkelend.

From a mystery case fro beer hawk. Opened the 33cl bottle and an immediate volcano of froth came out! Perhaps I needed to chill it as I left it at about 15c for a few days. Light and quite sweet, taste of bubblegum. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Sampled from an 11.2 fl oz can. Light amber colour. A nice farmhouse beer, with a a light malty taste with some spicy yeastiness. Light and quite fruity with the notes of white pepper and orange peel. Very pleasant.

Aroma frutal (plátano), a levadura, pan, especiado (a granja, permítaseme decirlo).
