COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
St-Feuilliens Saison is what the Belgians call a beer of the terroir, a traditional farmhouse ale with all the rich savour of the fertile land of southern Belgium. Saison, a warm golden blonde beer, is a top-fermented classique. Thanks to secondary fermentation in the bottle, Saison has an unmistakable flavour full of rich nuances and a slight tang.Judge for yourself. 750s and 20L kegs only. In first instance, for export to the USA only.

A - Huge 3 finger foam head on top of a semi hazed burnt orange. S - Dry grass, dusty yeast, spice, hints of earthy citrus. T - Crisp and spicy upfront, dried pears, lemon, an earthy wood-like character, dried floral-like hop spice on the finish. The yeast doesnt really show on the palate until the aftertaste. M - Spritzy carbonation, very dry, medium bodied. Nice and dry. The yeast is mellow but hits on aftertaste. Very good overall. Serving type: bottle 09-09-2011

Quelle belle symphonie. Quel beau moment.

Bottle, 330 ml. Pours slightly hazy golden amber with a large amount of lively, frothy white head, about a finger of which sticks around. Lacing is fairly thick and theres quite a lot of visible carb with medium-sized bubbles. Some light honey on the nose mixed with some soft fruity notes, a bit of sweet orange and red apple, smaller citrus hints. Some light spicy yeast here as well; some allspice and clove. All nice but fairly subdued. Taste is spicier with a fair amount of white pepper and sourdough bread up front, some citrus and sour apple cuts through and some spicy hops at the back. Finish is peppery with a light lingering bitterness in the back of the throat. Medium-light body, oily texture, slightly too sticky but very dry; quite refreshing.

Bottle from Beerhawk. Looks clear orange-gold with a frothy white head. Aromas of sharp, bitter hop, dusty sherbet and musty yeast. Taste is peppery hop, dry yeast with pale, soft malt smoothing things out. Its a light, sharp and dry palate on the tongue with an oily mouthfeel. Im not a fan of Saisons and Im not the biggest fan of this so it must be doing everything right. This is a dry and spicy beer which nevertheless remains refreshing. But its just not my thing. Yet.

Bottle at home. I am embarassed to say that I lost my Saison virginity with this; and what a lovely beer. A nice spicy flavour, a very good mouthfeel and very refreshing.

From a mystery case fro beer hawk. Opened the 33cl bottle and an immediate volcano of froth came out! Perhaps I needed to chill it as I left it at about 15c for a few days. Light and quite sweet, taste of bubblegum. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Sampled from an 11.2 fl oz can. Light amber colour. A nice farmhouse beer, with a a light malty taste with some spicy yeastiness. Light and quite fruity with the notes of white pepper and orange peel. Very pleasant.
