A great looking Beer nice dark brown. Light brown head that lasted.
nice blended flavor, but on the weak side. Almost a LIGHT Stout.

On tap at the brewpub. Pours black with a tan head that dissipates to the edges and barely remains. Aroma has dark grains with a bit of backing light roast. On tap at the St Francis Brewery & Restaurant. Dark brown with ruby lowlights and a creamy brown head. Aroma of roasted malt, chocolate and oatmeal. Roast aroma. Dark coloured rich and fruity with a hint of bitterness in a dry roast finish.

On tap at St. Francis. Poured near black with a creamy cap of beige head.. ruby highlights.. sticky lacing as it descended. The aroma was well-roasted, yet sweet with nutty notes and chocolate leading.. deeper down was some vanilla.. very well presented. The flavor found dry-roasted, semi-sweet chocolate and vanilla at the core.. coffee and light earthy bitterness surrounded.. dry and well-roasted on the finish.. well-balanced. On tap at the brewpub (11/13/09): Barely transparent dark mahogany with a small froth of beige head. Aroma of sweet toasty dark caramel and roasty malt with some bittersweet chocolate notes. Starts with good fullness and fairly rich dark chocolate with some mild caramel sweetness with a mocha coffee bittersweet finish. Good balance and chocolate flavor throughout.
