COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
St. George American Brown Ale is the typical American take on a classic English style. This beer exhibits an assertive American hop character overlying a malty richness which lends it a slightly sweet, toasty flavor and aroma. Dark brown in color with a thick tan head our American Brown Ale is a brewed from a full malt base and is well balanced by a spicy/citrusy hop bitterness.

On tap; pretty good tasting beer. Flavor was dominated by a nice combination of chocolate and caramel. Hints of nuts. Color and aroma were as expected. Palate was pretty solid. I would say it is an above average version of the style.

From dkachur via trade. The pour was dark brown with attractive garnet highlights glowing on the edges. The head was off-white, almost one-finger tall and coughed up flecks of lacing. The aroma was brown sugar, light chocolate and roasted malt with faint hop bitterness. The flavor was chocolate, roasted malt, nutty, spicy and possibly even some hops on the finish. The mouthfeel was average and the finish was unremarkable. Good.

The last bottle I picked up from the brewery and the second of two brown variants. This version was more complex, had a thicker mouthfeel and more roasted notes. Finishes with coffee and baking chocolate. Nice.

Not much better than average. I had this one on tap at the Harrisonburg beer and wine festival. It was pretty simple. Good aroma coming off, a nice nutty hoppiness, but it lacked the depth I usually find in better brown ales.

This beer pours with a small light brown head on a deep brown body with a walnut like aroma on malts. Nice walnut flavour with a deep bitter finish on a medium body.

Bottle. Nice beer. Nutty, with a caramel flavor. It is okay, very malty, and roasty. Thick, but nice.

Dark pour smells malty and rich. Taste is pretty good actually, the best bunch of my mixed 6 pack from these guys. Went down easy, cracking the next beer after it made me wish I had another one of these. Pretty good.

Nice looking beer - dark reddish brown, tan head. Aroma of nuts and roasted malted. Can taste and feel the chocolate malt in the palate , adds some depth and the chocolate taste. I liked this one, thanks Ron.

12oz. bottle. Sweet, toasty, bready dark malt aroma, notes of nutty toffee and cocoa in the nose along with some light earthiness and a slight fruity hop character. Attractive deep mahogany color, clear, with a lasting, fine, light tan head. Flavor profile features the expected caramel sweetness and dark bready maltiness, but is backed by a solid undercurrent of citric hop flavor and spicy bitterness, finishing with suggestions of licorice and hazelnut. Fairly smooth on the palate with a medium body. Very nicely flavorful take on the style. Thanks to Kinz for all these St. George brews!

12 oz bottle. Pours dark brown and lite brown head. Nutty aroma and taste of malt and chocolate with bitter after taste.
