Fresh bottle picked up from the brewery. Pours a nice clear copper color with a small white head and slight lacing. Light aroma of chalk dust, sweeter malt and a hint of citrus. Really a well balanced and mellow flavor. No real strong alcohol notes that sometimes pop-up in this style. MaltDawg (1344) - Richmond, Virginia, USA - NOV 2, 2009

Amber colored and clear with a thin white head. The nose is big and malty up front with some hints of pear. Sweet caramel flavor. Very sticky. Some faint hints of light fruit and toffee. Medium carbonation. Good mouthfeel. jmuhops (669) - Winchester, Virginia, USA - OCT 23, 2007
Pours amber with a one-finger white head. Great toffee and light grainy, earthy hop aroma. A little heat in the nose. Sweet, malty flavor. Some nuttiness. The alcohol comes through a little too much on the end; maybe a touch more hoppiness would take care of that. Or maybe just make it a bit weaker. Still, definitely worth a shot. One of the few decent American Bocks. obguthr (6357) - Staunton, Virginia, USA - AUG 26, 2007
Shockoe festival Richmond VA-Draft: Bready, nutty, and a little meaty aroma. Cloudy light ochre pour, thick yellow head. Taste is sweet caramel and walnut. There’s a faint hint of bubblegum on the palate. Chewy mouthfeel.
