St. George Golden Ale is based on an old British recipe, but with an American twist - a slightly sweet, malty flavor with a citrusy finish. It has a thick, creamy head and is golden amber in color.

Nice aroma, average appearance. However this beverage lacked flavor. It does have a short-lived mild 'hoppy' aftertaste, but this bottle just doesn't have much flavor.

Completely of the earth...wonderful beer goodness in the aroma, malt and bittering hops. An overall bitterness in the mouth that is not overpowering, but very nice. I get very little fruit or citrus components, just a well-made beer - OK, a hair of sweetness from the malt upon warming. Still quite bitter. And good. Danke urb, this is a good brewery to champion.

Assuredly not their best brew but it is drinkable none-the-less. CCloudy yellow with a large white head. Flowery aroma and a similar taste.

Light and fruity with just enough bitterness. Definitely in the West Coast light ale tradition (Full Sail Golden Ale springs to mind). I affirmatively enjoy this beer, which amazes me, given that this is an essentially 'training wheels' beer style.

HighGravity (926) - Baltimore, Maryland, USA - OCT 21, 2002
This is a very clear beer with an appropriate golden color. The head lasted a few seconds, but what is left is hanging in there. The palate is malt driven with a touch of dryness in the finish. Overall, an enjoyable rounded Ale.

A good beer but would be better without the citrusy flavor. Close to a pale ale. ;)

MilkmanDan (1942) - Eagan, Minnesota, USA - SEP 15, 2002
Surprised at the hoppiness of this one. Has a very prevalent Cascade-ish citrusy quality to it. More pale than golden. Nothing particularly interesting, but not bad.

VA Homebrewer (524) - Portsmouth, Virginia, USA - MAY 13, 2002
A nice, enjoyable APA with a solid hop presence and a floral hop nose. Malt backbone a little slight, but it still manages a great flavor and a clean, moderately bitter finish. Clear golden in color (duh...) with a medium head. A fairly standard APA.

It is as it is described.Or as my wife would say,'A rather inoffensive little beer.'

MainerInExile (41) - Nashua, New Hampshire, USA - JAN 5, 2002
More of a pale than a golden ale. Hoppy aroma, and the flavor followed suit. It's pretty one-dimensional, really. Not bad, not great, just okay.
