St. George Golden Ale is based on an old British recipe, but with an American twist - a slightly sweet, malty flavor with a citrusy finish. It has a thick, creamy head and is golden amber in color.

The beer was fair. This was my second Golden the weekend I had it, and this was 10 times better, yet this ale is far from a "good" beer in my opinion. There are many APAs out there... I think I will continue my quest for the bigger and better.

Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a caramel color with an enormous foamy orange-white head that lingered and left decent lacing. The aroma was tangy and sweet with dark and golden fruits and a hint of perfume. The flavor was tangy and sweet sugar, dark and golden fruits, yeast and a hint of perfume. Medium length finish. Light to medium body and very overcarbonated. Solid.

Another one from my VA haul, reviewed from notes. This was poured into a pint glass. The appearance was a hazy yellow to light orange color with a slight transparency about it allowing a light carbonation to be seen rising throughout the beer. Light foamy head dissipated within about thirty seconds and barely left any lacing in its wake. The smell had a sweet corn to citrus - slightly lemon with a light grassiness about it. The taste was mainly sweet with a slight refreshing sort of crisp grassy edge to the flavor. On the palate, this one sat about a light on the body with a fairly decent sessionability about it. The carbonation was somewhat subdued but carried a nice crisp sharpness about it. Overall, decent blonde ale that I think I could do again.

Extremely foamy head on this brew. FLavor is a bit grassy and aftertaste is a bit sharp on the tongue.

Poured from a bottle. Clear golden color, huge foamy white head. Hops and mild malt aroma. Sweet honey hops flavor with a smooth finish. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Clear golden pour with fair near white head ring. Very much to the descriptoion. its like an english pale ale with an american citrusy twist. Smooth and drinkable with a lingering slight bitterness on the palate. Not bad.

This is a beer I try to always keep around. Medium to dark golden color with a good head. Clean, crisp, caramel and hops taste with a little bitterness in the end. Strong bouquet of grains, malt, caramel and yeast in a good way. Goes great with a Shrimp Po Boy down at the Yorktown Pub on the beach in the summer... make that winter too!

A nice twist on a simple lighter ale. A beautiful sweet aroma with a hint of citrus. Unfortunately drank out of a bottle, so giving them the benefit of the doubt on appearance, but the flavors are pretty simple and not all that interesting, although highly drinkable. Smooth crisp palate cleans gently. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

December 2009. An average pale ale with good malty flavors, but a bit on the boring side. Hops on the finish. Pine, citrus, caramel aromas.

Good beer. Nothing spectacular, but a solid APA. Medium hopiness. Tasty and refreshing.

Aromas are floral and toasty. Appearance is orange-gold with white head foam of moderate retention. Taste is slightly bitter and somewhat sweet. Palate is medium-bodied with moderate carbonation and an abrupt finish.
