Draught at Ølbaren, Copenhagen
Dark red-amber color with small head. Light aroma of cereals. Some caramel flavor and light cereals, moderate sweetness, ordinary bitterness. Rather boring example.

Draft. A red-brown beer with a beige head. The aroma has notes of malt, caramel, bread, and a bit of alcohol. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, caramel, bread, and alcohol, leading to a bitter finish.
Earlier Rating: 3/12/2006 Total Score: 3.6
A red-brown beer with a thin orange head. The aroma is sweet malty with light alcohol notes. The flavor is sweet matly with lots of caramel and alcohol, leading to a dry end, where the alcohol burns the mouth slightly. Nice.

A tasty bock, however nothing really to write home about as far as doppelbocks are concerned. Beautiful pour, although the aroma was very faint. The flavor too is not very bold and makes for a mild brew from beginning to end. It’s alcohol content is masked by its sweet silky nature. Not bad.

gunnar (9697) - Sandnes, NORWAY - OCT 20, 2013
From bottle at Nærbøfestivalen 13. Pours clear dark mahogany with a small creamy head. Aroma is malty, toffee, nuts and bread. Taste is smooth malty, toffee and earthy malts. Ends dry, lingering malty, very good.

Idiosynkrasie (7978) - Bielefeld, GERMANY - SEP 18, 2013
500ml bottle. Wonderful clear, ruby red glowing, mahogany colour with average, creamy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, off-white head. Malty aroma in typical dark Doppelbock style: caramel, toffee, a touch of malt spicyness. Taste is minimally to moderately sweet malty with identical characteristic, dry hop notes compensate portions of the sweetness. Typical, good.

(draught 0,5l) (as St. Georgen Bräu Doppelbock) Light sweet, plum aroma. Medium creamy white head. Light sparkling red-brown color. Medium sweet, plum, fruity taste. Medium body. Fizzy. Astringent finish. Very good beer. High alcohol level is very good covered, almost not detectable. Dangerous ;-)

pivnizub (10812) - Bochum, Porř, GERMANY - NOV 11, 2012
Bottle(@Pivni rozmanitost, Praha): Deep ruby-amber coloured, clear, persistent tanned creamy head, not too sweet fruity - mainly dried fruits - and toasty nose, rounded by a good dry bitter hoppy touch; moderate to solid sweet-bitter flavour, medium bodied and soft; chocolatey traces in the solid and smooth malty and hoppy finish. Another goody from great Buttenheim...
Earlier Rating: 5/3/2007 Total Score: 3.6
Bottles: Very dark amber, almost "black" coloured, small off-white head with a good lace; delicate dark-malty, dark fruity nose with a tinge of metal; solid sweet-bitter flavour, medium to full bodied, soft MF; drier malty and bitter finish. A weel crafted session Bock..... (one year old version: a bit more complex nose with chocolatey flavours, smooth MF; chocolate, cacao in the finish with a vinous tinge. A very well rounded Bock, that ages well. 7/3/8/4/16)

inbirraveritas (1612) - Budapest, HUNGARY - NOV 6, 2012
(Bottled brew tasted in December 2010 rated falsely as St. G. B. Schwarzbock) Clear dark brown pour with a small, pale brown head, which collapses quickly. Sweet, dried fruity and spicy nose. The malty aroma brings raisins, caramell, licorice, toast and notes of grassy/herbal hops along, flavour’s dried fruity with some chocolate. Slick and moderate sticky mouthfeel. Gently warming finish escorted by dark chocolate and spices, which leaves a toasty-dried fruity aftertaste behind. Enjoyed it.
