We brew the strongly hopped Keller Bier traditionally according to an age-old recipe and then let it mature unbunged in deep vaults. Naturally cloudy; with bottom-fermenting yeast rich in vitamins, this very drinkable beer is frequently enjoyed out of a stein.

[Cask at Wetherspoons] Deep amber colour with moderate but dissipating head. Aroma is caramel and grain followed by floral and slightly fruity hoppy notes. There is also a slightly buttery note which isn’t entirely pleasant. Fairly full-bodied and malty on the palate with more caramel and a dry finish. I would have preferred this beer if it had been more hoppy and slightly cleaner (without the buttery note); all the same, not a bad beer and in excellent condition for a Wetherspoons.

Cask. Amber/orange. Malty (buttery caramel and toffee). Hoppy (grassy and earthy hops). Hint of fruit (dark fruits). Sweetish with slight bitter hoppy edge. (2008)

From Labirratorium. In Bavaria glass. After dinner. 1 month before bbf. Rancid aroma and taste and a bit watery but with a good dose of herbal hops to keep it interesting.

UPDATED: NOV 21, 2016 Bottle. Hazy amber color with big eggshell head. Aroma is bready, quite malty, some nuttiness, a bit roasted even, fruits. Taste is bready, tea, some caramel. Slightly bitter finish, Very creamy silky mouthfeel. Very interesting, a more malt-forward Franconian Kellerbier. 6-4-7-4-14

Had a fresher bottle of this in Franconia - more hoppy, more refreshing. 7-4-7-4-15

Aroma; caramel, malts, sweet leaves, apple, bread. Look; half way hazy amber-golden body with off white dense cream. Taste; malts, caramel, sweet hops, apple note, bread, bitter hops, grains, roasted-bitter notes - leading to a balanced herbal-malted finish. Feel; normal, natural carbonation. Overall; surprisingly good hops in this one, not too sweet at all. [50cl.btl 4.9% BB.01.12.16 [email protected]]
