On the basis of ancestral recipes, this relatively light blonde, remains faithful to the principles of the monks who populated the old abbey of Belgian. It refreshes intelligently, and will charm the thirst in hot weather.

Bouteille de 33cl, titre à 6;5%. Couleur blond légèrement orangé, mousse moyenne de tenue correcte, nombreuses particules en suspencion, des arômes d’agrumes, des épices, et une petite touche fleurie persistante en fin de bouche. Carbnnation moyenne. Trouvée à Roby - Menin.

Svesse (8803) - Hässelby, SWEDEN - DEC 8, 2012
(Draught at Delirium Café, Brussels, 20 Oct 2012) Golden colour with brief, white head. Malty nose with notes of bread, dried fruit, grass, hay and peaches. Malty, slightly fruity taste with bready malt, apricots, biscuits and a mild, spicy bitterness in the finish. Medium body, with a certain sweetness. Not very exciting, but quite enjoyable.

durhambeer (2585) - Durham, North Carolina, USA - DEC 4, 2012
Draft from Churchkey in DC. Damn, this was surprisingly good. Light, slightly herbal and spicy... definitely not your typical Belgian blond. Notes of honey and heather. Refreshing.

29/X/12 - 33cl bottle @ Erwin’s place - BB: VII/13 (2012-1220) Thanks to Erwin for sharing the beer!

Clear blond to light orange beer, aery yellow head, unstable, bit adhesive. Aroma: citrus, floral, sweet, sugary, some fruity yeast esthers. MF: good carbon, medium body. Taste: sweet start, pretty fruity, honey, bit floral, bitter touch. Aftertaste: sweet, little bitter, some honey, bit of yeast, spices. Not as bad as I had feared.

Test vom 2.7.2011, Gebinde: Glasflasche Noten: 3,10,9,9,12,9 - 8,70

BlackHaddock (7690) - Shropshire, ENGLAND - APR 18, 2012
Posh packaged 33cl bottle (gold foil on top, orange front label), best before June 2011, poured into a ’Corsendonk’ badged stemmed tulip glass in Aug 2010. The beer was a dull orange colour and full of floating sediment, I’d stored this beer for over a year (upright and in the dark) and moved it for chilling the day before opening, yet it still came out of the botle like a torrent bringing all the sediment with it. The head was a balloning white crest, but the sediment just refused to settle in the glass. Yeast and grainy smell, strong and heady. The flavours were of yeast, mixed spices and mild hops, no real malt presence evident to me. OK, but middle of the road stuff compared to a lot of Belgian Blondes. The sediment leaving the bottle and not calming down any didn’t help the scores given.
