Botella. Color marron oscuro, espuma poco persistente, carbonatacion baja. Aroma a caramelo y dulce de leche, tambien a azucar quemado y algo licoroso. En boca es dulce, y alcoholica pero bien equilibrada acabando con un amargor notable.

Bottle 0,33L. Courtesy of Gregor. Clear, dark amber color with huge, frothy, light brown, long lasting head. Aroma of toffee, caramel, molasses, chocolate, milk. Taste is quite bitter for the style and it follows aroma. Medium body, oily texture, soft carbonation, chalky finnish.

From Sep 2006 Poured from caged and corked 750ml(dated 2 04) a cloudy orange-brown with a huge head of foam that slowly shrank until there was just a fine layer but there's plenty of lacing. The smell is of sweet caramel and has notes of fruit(plum) and something else sweet...maybe cinnamon. The taste...first thing I notice is the plum I mentioned in the smell. That's followed by some caramel sweetness and a bit of molasses with a touch of sourness close to and through the finish. There's other fruitiness in there as well, mainly orange but a wee bit of banana. As for the 8%abv, it doesn't show up in the taste at all. Dang. I'm liking this dubbel and I had a fresher bottle a couple of years ago that didn't please my palate the way this +2 year old sample is. Good. There's at least 6 more bottles of this waiting for me in the store. ;^) Bottom line: I like this Dubbel. A lot. I recommend it.

Bottle from Carrefour City Supermarket, Brussels, Belgium. Hazy brown with red highlights and a thick white head. It has a rich red and dried fruity flavour with malty notes, spices and currants and plum on the warming finish. Very good.

vinivini (3009) - Gomel, BELARUS - OCT 4, 2017
Bottle. Hazy chestnut brown liquid with abundant beige head. Excellent retention & lacing. The aroma is very spicy. Coriander. Additional candy, toffee, caramel. Medium body. Dryish taste. Caramel, candy, some bread, dried fruit, spicy yeast. Well-hidden alcohol. Low to light bitterness. All in all a decent Dubbel from non-elite area.

Pours brown with beige head. Aroma is caramel, toffee, cinnamon, raisin, some watermelon, milk chocolate, brown sugar, nougat cream. Taste is soft, sourish, apple, toffee, caramel cream, citrus, some cinnamon, roast in the end, a bit burnt sugar, fruits, a bit white wine like. Nice beer!

MrW (741) - Mechelen, BELGIUM - JUN 1, 2017
33 cl bottle. Aroma was way better than the blond one. Dark fruits, licorice, maybe a bit vinous, raisin. Poured dark red with a thin beige head. Taste is sweet, but has something sour of the fruits as well, the raisins or wine is still in there for me.

Flaske fra Belgisk Bryg, hjemme: mørkebrun rav med flott, storboblet skum som varer. Fruktig, lett syrlig aroma og smak med kirsebær, plommer og rosiner. Karamell i bakgrunnen. Slank og samtidig rik smak, hvor syrligheten gjør at den minner litt om oude bruin. Lekrre kirsebær i avslutningen.
