Our IPA is bright copper in color with a wonderful citrusy hop aroma. Island Hoppin has a great malty body that pairs well with the dry hoppy finish. IBU’s 50, Warrior, Cascade, Willamette.

Was lucky to find this brewery when I was on vacation in the islands. Not a bad brew. Cannot remember what it tasted like though. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

BeerandBlues2 (13821) - Escondido, California, USA - SEP 14, 2013
Bottle. Pours clear amber with a small, frothy white head, short retention with spare lacing. Aroma is apricot, pear esters, pine and resin hops, biscuit and toast malt. Flavor is moderate hops and bitterness, supporting malt and a dry finish. Medium body and carbonation.

330ml bottle (Pikkulintu, Helsinki)
Absurdly fruity aroma, no resemblance of beer at all. Something a!most minty about it. Sweet in the mouth. Sticky in places. Actually, sticky everywhere. Rather dull sweet caramel and toffee malts in the taste. Some soapiness which I guess is hops. Snorey-borey, nothing of interest here. Barely adequate, but drinkable.

Bottle Total Wine Jacksonville. Poured with closer to a brown color. No head. Aroma is not very good. Get some hop notes not to many of the IPA elements in the aroma. Taste is bitter, surprisingly, slight citrus a decent malty flavor for sure. This beer kind of reminded me of drinking a Heineken if they made an IPA.

12 ounce bottle
Making the trek to the Helsinki suburbs I decided to start with a new country tick. This is not the greatest IPA in the world (after all it is from Shipyard) but at least I can cross a small island off the list. That should be the only reason to go for a subpar beer.

Aroma / Appearance - The bronze icy body had a chunky white head that was disjointed like tearing apart packing peanuts. Musty dog fur, peaches, and late fall leaves rotting in a pile are not the stuff of legends. Fortunately there are no signs of awful infection.

Flavor / Palate - Honey, melon, and peaches revive interest enough to tackle the entire bottle. Apple pie stars in a transitional mouthfeel that clings to the tongue for about a minute. The bitter oaky finish tries to be distinct. This might work better on a warm beach but in that case I think I would go for something stronger on ice instead. Otherwise it is an uninspired offering.

olsvammel (7289) - Örebro, SWEDEN - JUN 29, 2013
Bottle at Sorbon in Bromma (Stockholm). Butter on the nose, diacetyl. Same thing in the taste, butter and butterscotch. A hint of rancid butter. No hops at all. It was infected but not completely overpowering like an Innis & gunn. The bartender gave me a different beer as compensation.

Grumbo (3979) - Ipswich, Suffolk, ENGLAND - APR 27, 2013
Bottle enjoyed in a bar in Road Town, British Virgin Islands. Attractive amber colour, strong citrus aroma, mid sweet, medium body.

AWISLguy (3327) - Wisconsin, USA - APR 16, 2013
Bottle from Total Wine in Jensen Beach. Pours a golden orange with a bubbly white head leaving quite a bit of wedding lacing. Aroma has malt and barley/grains, some earthiness and some caramel. Taste is of malt, sweet caramel with a bit of citrus. Light to medium body. Quite dry. Shrug, a good pale - not thinking it really is an IPA.

JK54B (1602) - Helsinki, FINLAND - APR 3, 2013
Mild hoppy nose. Large pale fast disappearing head. Golden color. Hoppy malty fruity and slightly grape fruity taste. Not too hoppy. Well balanced.

This is a disgusting beer. It is a gimmick beer. I am ashamed I bothered to even try it.
