The beer pours from the 340ml bottle deep reddish purple with a modest pinkish purple creamy head, lace a thin veil. The aroma of the berries sweet mixed with a malt greets you first, then I liken it to sour mash, I think the moonshiners in the audience would understand my description, or if you ever worked on a farm with swine, the four legged kind! Lol
Start is sweet at the front, with the tartness at the back, dry as they come, top is light to middling in feel. Finish as a ferine acidity, the black currants continue to the parched semi-sweet aftertaste, a decent Lambic, but I have had better.

dark ruby purple colour, head is big slightly purple and laced nicely, nice tart flavour which surprised me, not sour enough for a real lambic. MiP (15650) - Sønderborg, DENMARK - JAN 31, 2007
Bottle. Very sweet Ribena aroma. Very dark red/purple colour. The flavour is of blackcurrant with a citric edge. Not bad. bager (2120) - Copenhagen N, DENMARK - JAN 8, 2007
Bottled. Deep redish purple coloured with a pinkish head. Very sweet and lemonadeish. SLightly sour finish. Notes of currant and grapes. A bit too fizzy. holdenn (2116) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - OCT 17, 2006
Bottled: in the glass it looks just like purple grape soda with a purplish-pink head. The flavor is very fake, lightly sour fake sweetness that finishes sugarry and way too sweet. I have no desire to ever try something from this brewery again.

Bottle at home.
Dark red with a red head, mostly lasting, ok lacings. Aroma moderate malty (cassis). Flavor first moderate sweet, then heavy acidic. Watery. harlequinn (2744) - Tacoma, Washington, USA - AUG 3, 2006
Decent, bittersweet fruit skin aroma, slightly tart and fizzy, without being overly bitter and sour. A great mouthfeel with a nice essence of grape fruitiness, I would not quite call this a lambic, but it does make a decent fruit beer. seamus77 (31) - kansas city, Missouri, USA - JUN 20, 2006
at first wiff i thought "oh crap, not again!" but the sugary-sweet nose is betrayed by the suprisingly tart flavor of this cassis that danced across my tongue! wow! maybe it’s just the shock of not getting a mouthful of syrupy currents, but this is a decent cassis far better than the better-known and oft consume peche, kriek, or framboise offerings. not enough to reclaim an pride at being belgian brewers, but atleast this tangy concoction lifts the rep of van honsebrouck’s st louis out of the mud a bit. outerupt (133) - Richmond, Virginia, USA - APR 19, 2006
Poured from a small bottle. A very interesting deep purple with a raspberry head. The nose is concentrated fruits (concord grapes, blueberry, and of course currants) and lightly floral. If you’ve ever had a stick of fruit stripe gum, you’ll instantly recognize that flavor in this beer, although there is ample tartness to balance out the residual sugar. A pretty nice lambic with perhaps just a bit too much fruit on the palate for my taste. Lunkie (1926) - Glen Iris, AUSTRALIA - FEB 25, 2006
Sweet blackcurrent aroma with malt. Plum red colour with poor bright pink head and poor lacing. Very very very sweet Ribina/blackcurrent flavour. Nothing like a beer at all. Fizzy palate. Sorry but I cannot do a fruit beer.
