Deep dark red color, small pink head. Sweetish blackcurrant juice aroma. Flavor is quite sweet and sour. No taste of alcohol, just like a juice with sugar. Carbonated palate. I don't count this as a beer, but it tastes fine as a juice. Might be good for flu when heated up.

Nice black currant aroma, bit sweet-syrupy. Dark blood red clear with light pink lacing head. Medium watery body and medium high carb. Very tart up front, good sour black currant flavor. Sour finish, some hoppiness. Light fruity after - my first cassis.

Bottled. Deep blackcurrant red colour that looks artificial. Poor deep purple head and low condition. Aromas of blackcurrant over some crappy farmyard lambic notes. Overperfumed and syrupy in the mouth and a dry short finish.

fat pink head looks great. sweet aroma but thankfully the sweetness doesnt totally overwhelm the general lambicness of the thing. quite salty and sour with some rottenness

UPDATED: AUG 3, 2003 Wow! What a colour, man! Hey! Gee! Oh my! I never seen one like THAT before. Get the camera. Get the FBI. Bring all your mates round. Let's just sit and watch and dribble and cover our toes with peanut butter. Mmmm. Gotta give that a 5. It radiates. It just gives off a glow, like Caesar burning. His robes smouldering softly in the evening light. O joy! And then that yeasty blackcurrant aroma. And then plunge into the devilish sweet/sour sharp/soft yummy yum yum of a fruity tang. Fresh. Slap your face. I love these fruit lambics. I just love 'em! [3.7]
Re-rate. Same again please guv'nor.

Actually not as bad as the odd presentation and synthetic aromas make it out to be. Slightly sour, mildly acidic, not too effervescent and not foaming. Starts drinkable and then the sweetness hits me.

Head is initially average sized, frothy, purple, mostly lasting. Body is dark purple, moderate density of tiny particles. Aroma is lightly malty (light bread), lightly yeasty (mold), with notes of cassis and concord grape, hint of celery. Flavor is heavily sweet, heavily acidic. Finish is lightly sweet, moderately acidic, lightly bitter. Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation, moderately astringent. Weird vegetal (celery/cilantro) aroma under the fruit at first, but it seems to virtually disappear as the head dies down. Good flavor balance makes it enjoyable though. Very sexy appearance.

I hate cassis (blackcurrant?) so its hard for me to rate this beer objectively. The aroma is very strong cassis which seems rather artificial to me. It has a nice dark red colour with a nice head and good lace. The flavor is again cassis but not as artificial as the aroma. It is sweet and sour unlike expected. The overwellming sweetness in other beers like this is not present here. Its also pretty full. The finish lasts for minutes but again is of course the flavor of cassis.

red-brown colour, few head, strong blackcurrant aroma, vinous, the sweetness is partially balanced by an interesting sourness - quite pleasant
