COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
For 6 months the flesh of the fresh sour cherries slowly digests in the Lambic. The intense flavour of cherries and light nuances of almond from the pits determine the flavour of this fruity delicacy.

Note: ABV from 4.5% to 4% at some point.

UPDATED: JAN 25, 2012 Cherry, almondy aroma. Sweet n sour taste with cherry, almond and oak. Not too bad for a commercial kriek. The sourness and the almondy taste offset the sweetness. Rating from jan 2012: Vieux Bruxelles kriek. Best until 5/08. Murky brown color. Cherry sweets in the strong aroma. Sugary sweet flavor with cherry sweets, marzipan and some sour notes. Aftertaste has peppermint. Has kept extremely well.

Cherry, cherry and cherry again. All those exceptionally fruity beers are not my style.

Dark cherry red clear with medium size, short lasting head. Aroma is initially a bit citric but the cherry and fainter marzipan kick in to dominate the nose. Palate is quite soft for a kriek. Medium small sour hit at start then sweeter in the middle and finish, which are also where the cherry flavours are most evident although still mild. IMHO there is not enough sour character in this one.

Fruity, some cherries, quiet sweet and a little sourness. An average kriek.

A clear ruby color and sweet, fruity aroma. The palette is dry - could be more sour...much more. Of course the cherries come blazing through the flavor profile of this brew.

Looks like fruit beers are not to my taste. I was less than impressed with the combination of sweet and sour, though I like cherries. The use of real cherries instead of whatever artificial flavoring got dumped into the vat (tasted very fake) might have helped the taste.

reddish colour, few head, deep cherry aroma, sweet and sour, long dry fruity finish - quite artificial but I like it !

And I thought BelleVue Kriek was fake-tasting. ............................
