Bottle as pictured. Pours purple like a thick wine with lots oc carbonation. No head. Spotty lacing. Flavor was fermented sour grapes and berries. My knee jerk reaction was bitter beer face. However, as I grew accustomed ot the very unexpected flavor. It became drinkable. This experience was like tasting warhead sour candy for the first time. I think that someone could acquire a taste for this. Unfortunatley, I’m not that someone. hotstuff (5257) - Fort Wayne, Indiana, USA - NOV 18, 2006
Bottle. Small pink head that mostly diminished, poor lacing, transparent, visible carbonation, and a ruby hue. Nose was skunky, sour, tart, sweet, and reminded me of a barn. Flavor was sweet, acidic, very sour, very tart, and tangy. Mouthfee was tingly and sour. Light body. Way to sour and tart for my palate. thedm (6319) - Fort Wayne, Indiana, USA - NOV 18, 2006
This bottled brew from a bottle shop was marked bbf 08-2007 PRC50816A1927 poured a medium sized head of foam with a frothy top purple colored bubbles that were mostly lasting and left behind a semi-opaque dark red brown purple hued body. The aroma was sour tart and grape. The mouth feel was weakly tingly at the start mediumly tingly at the finish. The flavor contained notes of sweet sour grape dry and tart. A decent one but not one that I would consider buying again. saxo (19522) - Højbjerg, Aarhus, DENMARK - NOV 1, 2006
Bottle. Medium head with medium duration. Color i purple. Aroma is wonderful strong and lots of blaccurrant. Taste is a bit too sour to be all great. PhillyBeer2112 (2894) - Oviedo, Florida, USA - OCT 23, 2006
Dark blood-red purple with a foaming light purple head. Distinct cassis aroma with that unusual mix of berries, strawberry vines, dandelions and soap. Super sweet and berryish, but with almost enough acidity to cut through. Interesting mouthfeel, slick and candyish, but with a long sour twang that is vaguely tangible.

The aroma is fruity with currents and sugar. The appearance is dark purple with a nice sized purple head. The flavor is tart with wild berries and bitter currents. There is also a sweet element to compliment it. The palate is sticky. Overall it’s not bad. I don’t however give it a very high rating because currents are not my thing and it does not have the aroma or taste of a lambic. TheBeerGod (6261) - Newport News, Virginia, USA - OCT 7, 2006
Bottle. Pours like grape juice. Small purplish head. Nose is STRONG black currant and a touch of mint. Taste is almost pure black currant juice. I really can’t taste any lambic at all. Slightly tart but has more sweetness than expected. Also a soft mint or menthol-like coolness to it. Body is light and bubbly with mild tartness and acidity. Finishes with more currant juice and light tartness. Meh.... Ungstrup (38384) - Citizen of the universe, DENMARK - SEP 16, 2006
A deep red beer with a cherry colored head. The aroma is powerfully of black currant - almost like drinking concentrated black currant juice combined with a very faint note of acicity. The flavor is acidic with a powerful note of black currant, the acidity prickles lightly on the tongue and the palate. Like a black currant juice beer, lovely if You like black currants. 12.7oz, best by <!-- i -->08-2007<!-- /i -->. Definite berry smell, also some lighter oak and funk. It may be a bit of the three aromas blending, but I also smell a mix between a cherry ludens and a halls cough drop--medicinal and mentholly. Pours a purple reddish--like red wine but more bluish--with a moderate pinkish purple head. I don’t think the taste can decide what it wants. I get lots of acidity, some berries, some wintergreen--dunno where the mint comes from. I had been told this was a gateway beer from the Lindeman beers to the Cantillon’s. I haven’t had any Cantillon’s, but have had some fairly acidic gueuzes, and this seems to in fact be in the middle, but it doesn’t fit too well. Soft carbonation, light bodied. I still don’t think I know exactly what a currant smells and tastes like.
