25 cl. bottle sampled @ RBBWG 2014. Courtesy of & thx! to Kraddel. Heated on a stove, drank warm. Bright pomegranate red with no much in the way of head, looks like cranberry juice. Smell is pure candy, cherry pie, lots of sugar. Taste is pure candy, white sugar, warm cherry pie, sweet spices, faint lemon. Not much in the way of carb. Pleasantly surprise, sweetened juice / candy basically. No artificial sweetner off-notes. Really enjoyed it. dirtymike (2016) - Manchester, New Hampshire, USA - MAY 22, 2006

Richmond "industry" gathering. Medium red appearance. Aromas of cherry and spice. Flavor was, well, cherry and spice. Not much else to say here. Good though. hughie (3996) - Bedford, Bedfordshire, ENGLAND - JAN 2, 2010
Bottle, warmed as suggested. Label says Premium Glühbier rather than Glühkriek, but it’s clearly the same thing. Red colour. Sweet spicy aroma like a Magic Tree car air freshener. And to my surprise this stuff is delicious. First impression is sourness, but it’s a Haribo style sourness rather than a beery one. Then there’s some typical commercial almondy cherry taste with some rather nice cinnamon spiciness. There was a hint of Halls cherry flavoured throat sweets. And Vimto, the long forgotten children’s cherry pop. And finally a curious vinegary impression of Heinz tomato ketchup. No dryness at all. And the warmth gave a rather satisfying emphasis to the taste and made up for the relative lack of alcohol. Pity I only had one bottle.

A Mes rate:
Bottle shared at home with Duff and Sim. Plop the bed! PLAYDOUGH. Seriously such a strong hint of it in the aroma. Obvious cherry and cinnamon as you would expect with some ginger too. More of the same in the flavour. You will probably think I am crazy but I LOVE that Playdough, it’s great. Reminds me oof being a kid. Distinct saltyness to it. Lovely cherry and spice finish. Sweet and sour. I LOVE gluhkrieks. Easily the best St. Louis beer. gunnfryd (14877) - Kristiansand, NORWAY - JAN 1, 2008
