COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
St. Louis Premium Kriek is a kriekenbier, or cherry beer, made on a lambic base. A quarter of St. Louis Premium Kriek is the juice of Obacinska krieken cherries that have been steeped in gueuze for six months. It also has a smaller proportion of St. Louis Kriek Fond Tradition. This beer is a thirst-quencher with a low alcohol content and, in the nose, overwhelmingly sweet aromas of krieken cherries. It’s very fruity with a hint of sourness and slight touches of almond coming from the krieken cherry stones.

Sweet Jesus that's good. Perfectly balanced, velvety, sweet, tart, delicious, in short. Slightly lower abv and a smidgeon too thin for 5.0 but am struggling to criticize here

UPDATED: OCT 13, 2017 375 ml bottle into tulip glass, no bottle dating. Pours slightly hazy ruby reddish orange/amber color with a 1 finger dense light pink head with good retention, that reduces to a thin cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings around the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation retaining the cap. Aromas of big juicy and lightly tart/tangy red/black cherries, strawberry, plum, red apple, red grape, fruit skin/pits, almond, candi sugar, wheat, bread, light funk, and yeast earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of cherries, fruity yeast, and malt/sugar sweetness; with great strength. Taste of big juicy and lightly tart/tangy red/black cherries, strawberry, plum, red apple, red grape, fruit skin/pits, almond, candi sugar, wheat, bread, light funk, and yeast earthiness. Light fruity/lactic tartness and fruit tang on the finish. Lingering notes of juicy/tart/tangy red/black cherries, strawberry, plum, red apple, red grape, fruit skin/pits, almond, candi sugar, wheat, bread, light funk, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a while. Great complexity, robustness, and balance of cherries, fruity yeast, and malt/sugar sweetness; with a nice malt/tart/tangy balance, and no cloying flavors after the finish. Slightly increasing dryness from fruit tang/tartness. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, creamy, and lightly slick/syrupy/tangy/tannic mouthfeel that is nice. Zero warming alcohol as expected of 3.2%. Overall this was an excellent sweetened fruit lambic. All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of cherries, fruity yeast, and malt/sugar sweetness; very smooth and easy to drink with the mildly tart/tangy finish. Tastes like a cherry cobbler dessert as a beer. Lots of authentic jammy cherry fruit presence with balanced sweetness. Not as funky on the yeast as some others I've had, but it was really enjoyable all around.

Of course, not everybody's favorite, but from an official Kriek afficionado, St. Louis gets a thumps up.

Roze/rood helder licht roze kraag. Aroma van geuze/lambic, zoete kersen. Smaken matig tot redelijk zoet, framboos, kers, glad, mout, gist, ok co2, goede smaken, Zoetig en licht Zuurtje, jammer is een beetje de stevia zoetstof

Bottle. Clear ruby color with pinkish head. Aroma is straight bubblegum, artificial cherry flavours, soda-like. Taste is the same. Low carbonation. Really like drinking bubblegum juice.

At De Kalvarieberg, Bruges. Pours hazy red with a thin, pink head. The aroma contains cherry, sugar and some almond/marzipan. It tastes heavy sweet and only very light sour with a lingering sweetness - no Lambic-like finish. Light body, sticky texture, fizzy carbonation. Nah, this is just not it.

Bottle; pours clear ruby red with a pink head; aroma of cherries and hints of malt; taste is somewhat sweet with cherries and traces of malt; dry, light tart cherry finish

Robe grenat, fine mousse, peu persistante. Nez sur le yaourt à la cerise, le curberdon, le bonbon, assez chimique. Bouche à l’attaque doucereuse, tout aussi lactée, que le nez, fine bulle, finale fruitée. Est-ce vraiment une kriek ?

06/2017 @home - 33cl bottle, 2 years past it’s BBF date. Clear red with pinkish head. Nose is sweet artificial cherry. Taste is artificial cherry, very sweet, even after all these years.

Aroma: Medium-high cherry aroma, very similar to cherry lollipops. Medium-light marzipan. Acidity is present, but not strong. Appearance: Brilliantly clear, red body with a small, pink head with fair retention. Flavour: Medium-light horse blanket and cherry on the first sip. Acidity is present, but balanced by a sweetness. Medium dry finish, with a lingering cherry lollipop flavour. No hops. Mouthfeel: Light body. Medium carbonation. Overall: The sweetness of the beer is detracting from what I expect from a lambic. This feels almost like a slightly complex alcopop, not a complex lambic. 250 ml bottle, poured. 23F. Fruit Lambic
