Two row spring barley from the south of England, a special strain of yeast, ice-age glacier water from the "Rotenburger Rinne," plus hops from the famous "Hallertau Hop Gardens" in southern Germany are the ingredients that give St. Pauli Girl Lager its unsurpassed quality and taste and keeps you coming back for more.

Cheers!

Bottle to lager glass. Pours straw-yellow. Small pillow head, no lacing. Aroma of hay, light malts and skunk. Taste is mostly sweet malts with light bitterness. Light bodied, lively carbonation. Finishes sweet, slight skunk, metallic. Better than American TV beers, not the best German beer.

St Pauli Girl bottle poured into pint glass. Pilsner taste but a better pilsner than the American pilsners. Still not the greatest beer I gave it a 7 out of 20. If you are looking for a really good German beer look elsewhere it's ok but it's not what I'd call good.

Bottle (Old Notes)-Pours golden with a decent white head. Aroma of skunk, corn, and malt. Taste of the same with some hops. This light bodied brew is not bad nor good.

Bottle. A- Grains, cereal, grass, hay, water. A- Light yellow color, clear liquid, minimal head. T- Grains, cereal, corn, grassy, metallic, water. P- Light body, average texture, medium carbonation, crisp finish. O- The German macro. This is the same level as a Bud Light, Coors, Light, etc. Not one thing going for it. The only good thing about this beer is the hot spokeswoman they have for the brand.

Skunky taste, lively carbonation, just an okay beer. Very light, easy to drink. Decent flavor.

Bottle @ home, picked up at Wilbur’s Fort Collins. Pours a clear yellow appearance with a thin off white head. There is some DMS in the nose along with dough, cracker, and some floral notes. A bit twangy note on the finish. Spritzy. Lightly bitter and sweet. Kind of bland and watery. Just a bit of toast. Quite boring and not very good. I can’t imagine a scenario where I’d want to get fucked up on this shit. I’d take a good ol’ fashioned American-made Budweiser over this.

330ml bottle into a pint glass. Pours a clear, deep gold with a soapy one finger white head. No lacing at all and very poor head retention. Aroma has a distinct metallic twang mixed with skunk. I can just get a whiff of noble hops but they are buried under some bad smells. Thankfully, the flavor is much better than the aroma. The metal is gone replaced by bread grain and grassy hops with a bit of spice thrown in. There is a little bit of tartness that seems out of place, along with a moderate bitterness and clean finish. The finish isn’t super crisp but it isn’t bad. Overall, this beer is ok but just lacks the refinement of some other German pilsners. While the price is good, I would take a Bitburger over this any day.

pours a straw yellow with a small head that dissipates very quick. the aroma is very sweet malts, wet grass, and hay. the taste is almost identical to aroma.

hfmejias (1283) - Marshall, Minnesota, USA - NOV 9, 2013
Bottle, poured clear, yellow and with a vast white head. Yeasty nose, some grain not a whole lot else. Taste consistent with European lagers, lots of yeast and grain flavor. It a somehow decent, crisp and easy to drink beer; but nothing great.
