Two row spring barley from the south of England, a special strain of yeast, ice-age glacier water from the "Rotenburger Rinne," plus hops from the famous "Hallertau Hop Gardens" in southern Germany are the ingredients that give St. Pauli Girl Lager its unsurpassed quality and taste and keeps you coming back for more.

Nice golden color. Not much of a head. Nothing super impressive about the taste, but an enjoyable quaff nonthe less. I remember it being more distinctive when I was younger. Probably my palate was less mature then. Still, I wouldn't turn one down.

Typical bland lager with some hops thrown in................................

UPDATED: JUL 28, 2007 Bottle. Head is initially small, frothy/fizzy, white, mostly diminishing. Body is clear light yellow. Aroma is lightly malty (grain, malt syrup), trace hops (flowers), light note of DMS. Flavor is lightly to moderately sweet, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly sweet, lightly to moderately bitter, slightly unclean. Light to medium body, watery texture, lively/fizzy carbonation. The epitome of "mass produced". No character whatsoever.

It's alright if you're looking for a change. I thought it had an aftertaste though.

Decent German beer... but don't expect to say 'Great!'. A bit overpriced and can't say it's worth it.

This is just what you would expect from a German Lager. Bitter taste with a crist clean appearance.

a very generic lager. better than most mass produced swill but very unintersting. a trace of hops does emerge on tasting but on the whole this is a weak bland pilsner. 2 warnings - has a tendency to get skunked (green bottle) and is often overpriced since it is a import beer.

Well, it looks like beer, it makes a noise like beer when you pour it, it smells a little like beer, and it tastes a little like beer. If you want to braise bratwursts, this is well-suited for it.
