For a classic German Pils or whatever this one is an abomination. I would consider it more of an EPL.

Bottle. Sweet-sour, slightly musty aroma. Light golden yellow with small head. Slightly sweet barley malt with a mild hops finish. I can see why I thought this was the worlds greatest beer back in my BMC days. Oh well, New Years Eve is meant to be spent with old friends even if they dont mean as much to you as they use to.

Fair but not great. Some malt aroma and flavors. A bit of bitterness and a funny taste. Some call it "unique" I call it funky and not great.

Although it's brewed with 100% barley malt, it's hardly more enjoyable than any other rice-brewed American Standard.

Bottle. Poured clear gold with a white head that was bubbly and dissipated quickly. Aroma had notes of grain, bread and hay with a bit of grassy hops. Flavor was similar, mainly grains with just a bit of grassy hops.

Bottle @ home, picked up at Wilburs Fort Collins. Pours a clear yellow appearance with a thin off white head. There is some DMS in the nose along with dough, cracker, and some floral notes. A bit twangy note on the finish. Spritzy. Lightly bitter and sweet. Kind of bland and watery. Just a bit of toast. Quite boring and not very good. I cant imagine a scenario where Id want to get fucked up on this shit. Id take a good ol fashioned American-made Budweiser over this.

UPDATED: SEP 13, 2012 Bottle: Golden, clear, small white foamy layer, grassy and papery nose; light bodied and a bit tart, dryish bitter-sweet flavour; bitter and watery finish. Yes, surely this glorious beer will multiply the glory of german beer in the world...
