Originally rated on 8/5/08. Poured a dark black body with a thin tan cap, not much aroma to speak of but there were faint hints of chocolate, and roasted coffee. Good flavors also of chocolate, roasted malts, and coffee. Mouthfeel, i thought was a little watery for a cream stout but it was still decent and smooth. Overall a pretty good beer.

50 cl green bottle Very dark in the glass, some ruby colour slips through in the bottom of the glass. Thin tan head. Aroma of roasted malt and dark fruits. Dark flavours invade my palate. Flavours are coffee, dark fruits, dark bitter chocolate and roasted malt. Stunning!! Its creamy, but restrained, Challenger and Fuggles hops works very well together to make that bitter-sweet finish mouthfeel.

Used to be my favourite stout so it was interesting to see if my preference still is the same! This really is a nice and enjoyable, easy drinking stout. Not as complex as a quality imperial stout would be. Great creamy mouthfeel with a medium body. Chokolate, plums, some liquorice, roastiness are the main flavours that developes in time.

Smooth, and it tastes of burnt coffee, full body, malts are predominant with slight hop flavor . Nice stout.

Apparently black, candles purple hues are appreciated. Mousse cream / light brown low retention without any trace of lace. Aroma of toast and roasted malts. Copious notes to black, mocha and chocolate cream with more subtle wood / vanilla cake with dark fruit and a touch of yeast mixed with a floral touch. smooth and creamy, palatable, mellow and sweet taste at the beginning. Highlights include roasted malts and a taste of dark fruit cake and chocolate to help hide the alcohol, it just appears. very restrained bitterness that comes late in the drink in response to roasted malt. It ends with a very mild taste mixture of sweetness and bitterness. medium-high degree of lightweight body and carbon
