this one really surprised me. lovely colour and aroma, choc, coffee etc. taste is wonderful and you would think it stronger than its 6.5. just a damn good english stout.

Bottle at home picked up from Watford Asda. A dark brown black coloured pour with a fading loose tan head. Aroma is burnt earth, tangy dried fruit, burnt treacle, low meaty roast. Flavour is sweet cakey malts, dried fruits, liquorice, burnt cake, burnt milk. Lactose. Palate is rounded, creamy, moderate carbonation, lactose sugar sweetness. Lingering bitter roast. Not bad.

Bottle at home as a take-out from The Old Jerusalem Tavern. A flat beer with a minimal head, but some lacing. The colour was as black as night and quite pretty against the silver of the tankard. The aroma was light roasted malts which gently introduced you to the main event. The taste was spectacular, a huge wave of roasted and quite bitter malt that washed over my mouth and quite literally filled up my senses. The mouthfeel was caressing because of all that malt and warming from the alcohol. I don't think I have ever had that much malt before and towards the end of the pint I was struggling because it was so rich. It was certainly an experience, but did I like it? I'm still not certain because of all that malt and a lack of dimension to the flavours. It's a very English stout because of the St Peters "house bitterness" which should be right up my street, but it was all a bit too much. Would I buy it again? No, but I am very glad I experienced it.

Bought at the Alko in Säkylä in a half liter bottle. Appearance; quite black beer with dark beige head. Nose; raisin, chocolate and some dark (rye) bread. Taste; chocolate, plum, mild hops and sweet malts. This beer is very well balanced. This is why it has a creamy mouth feel. I am not a fan of porters and stouts, but I will drink this one again. Good craftsmanship!

UPDATED: OCT 24, 2017 Bottle. Pours opaque black with small brown head. Aroma is rotated malt, licorice, soy sauce and Marmite. Taste is medium sweet, light to medium bitter and faint acidic. Body is creamy with soft carbonation. Finish is long and balanced sweet and bitter with notes of malt, brown sugar, soy sauce, coffee, licorice and mint.

UPDATED: OCT 21, 2017 Donker (quasi zwart) bier met fijne mokkakleurige schuimkraag. Koffie, melkchocolade, beetje fudge, room.

Good solid beer. Not much aroma and I struggle to pick the different malts. Lots of roastiness and a finish that starts dry but finishes smoothly. Worst past is the appearance, almost no head. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Obfita, drobna i dość trwała piana, ciemnobrązowa, nieprzejrzysta barwa. W aromacie głównie czekolada i kawa zbożowa, w tle pumpernikiel. W smaku dość słodkie, gładkie, aksamitne, znów dominuje mleczna czekolada, niewielka kawowa kwaśność, lekka popiołowość. Goryczka nieduża, tytoniowa, niskie wysycenie, przyjemnie lepkie i pijalne w odbiorze.
Zaskakująco dobry, wyrazisty Stout - klasyczny, angielski, bezbłędny... choć chyba raczej Sweet Stout.

From the tap at Cimmeria, Oviedo, Spain. Pours black with brownish foam, very fine. Aroma is rich: coffee, dark chocolate, hazelnut, caramel. Body is dense with moderate carbonation and just a bit of stickiness. Taste is roasted, with just some sweetness underlying that. Finish is not particularly long.

Butelka. Wygląd - czarno-brunatny kolor, z lekkimi przebłyskami, z ładną, drobną, będziesz pianą. Aromat - są nuty kawowe, mlecznej czekolady, msze trochę cykorii, lekkie przebłyski alkoholu. Smak - lekka paloność, trochę czekolady, kawowość, jest dość gładkie, pełne i słodkie, lekko kwaskowate na finiszu, nasycenie średnie. Faktura lekko wodnista.
