COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Cask: Regular. Also available brewery conditioned and cold filtered in 500ml bottles.
Hops: Challenger and Goldings.
This fine beer is a blend of a mature old ale with a younger light beer - just as a true Porter should be. The marriage produces an extremely characterful brew which is dark in colour and complex in taste.

Pours semi cola color with little to no head. Aroma of toasted malts carmel and smokey goodness. Flavor however is bland and watery, semi-sweet with hint of toasted malts, mildly smokey, no real high notes.

F: almost big, pale tanned, average retention. C: dark opaque. A: roasted malt, bit of coffee, light dark fruits, bready, nutty. T: malty, roasted tones, coffee, cocoa, bit of dark bread crust, dry on the palate, medium body, low to medium carbonation, very nice, enjoyed, 0,5l bottle from Auchan Market in Luxembourg.

Very dark brown. Chocolate malt in the aroma. Lightly sweet and malty taste, with a hint of chocolate, and discrete acidity. Dry and bitter finish. Medium body. Overall, a decent porter. Mild and classic, right down to the colour.

Une excellente porter tout à fait traditionnelle. Belle couleur brune sombre tirant sur le noir, avec des reflets chocolatés. Arômes bien sur marqués par les malts: malts grillés, notes de chocolat, de cacao. Le grillé reste en arrière plan et les malts sont assez doux, typique de l’équilibre aromatique d’une porter. Notes également de fruits, comme des baies noires, et de houblons terreux. Bon équilibre entre les malts et les arômes de fruits, et également dans les gouts et le corps, qui sont doux en restant secs, amères en restant fruités et ronds. Très peu de bulles, un corps de densité moyenne et hautement buvable! Une porter sans la grande complexité des exemples modernes, mais parfaitement réalisée et très agréable

Almost black. Small brownish/dark yellow head, nice retention and lacing though. Moderately intense aroma of bitter chocolate and dark fruits, with hints of coffee. Taste is medium sweet and medium bitter with roasted malts, dark fruits (raisins), chocolate and coffee hints. Finish is also bittersweet with a slight bitter edge. Light to medium bodied with low carbonation, slightly silky mouthfeel. A balanced porter with a bit of complexity to it, but nothing impressing.

St. Peter’s bottle is unique. Never thought I would read the words ’Gibbstown (NJ)’ on a U.K. beer label. Porter has a reddish highlight, light bodied, roast malt and bitterness. With two beers blended together I think it adds to this Porter’s complexity.

Bottle @ home. Pours with an almost black colour, small diminishing head. Aroma is chocolatey and slightly coffey, but quite faint. Taste is medium sweet, slightly bitter, slightly sour. Medium body, oily texture, average carbonation (quite fizzy for a dark brew).

Cask Pint at Wibbas Down (JDW), Wimbledon, London in Apr 2010 - Pitch Black in colour. Very Malty; roasty malts, coffee, hint of chocolate. Fruity; sour fruits (berries). Hoppy; earthy and grassy hops. Nice malt/fruit/hop balance. Sour (slightly bitter) hops and fruit over roasty malts throughout. Nice Porter! (2010-04)

Color negro, opaco, con capa de espuma marrón de dos dedos de grosor (cremosa; no muy buena retención). Carbonatación mínima. Poco cuerpo. Aroma a café, cacao y frutos secos (quizá nuez). Sabeor que sigue al aroma, suave, sin ser dulce ni amargo. Tiene un toque metálico que se percibe en algún trago pero no molesta. Rica.
