355ml bottle (old notes)-Pours golden with a white head. Aroma of slight citrus and ginger. Taste of the same but a lot more prominent. This light bodied brew is different but just not for me.

500ml bottle pours golden in color with a small white head that leaves only a small trace of lacing. Aroma is ginger with hints of lemon and cereal grains with some herbal notes. Taste is light fruit sweetness with a hint of lemon and a big kick of ginger in the finish that lingers a while. Light to medium bodied with some light carbonation. The ginger is just a little too overwhelming in this delicate bitter, not enjoyable and not recommended.

As a novelty its alright, but I just dont like the taste. Not refreshing like I was hoping for in a summer beer, has a powerful pickled ginger taste to it. The palate is a little oily and has little aftertaste, but a discerable bite. Probably better warmish with some food.

Bottle gift. Big ginger and lemon taste that pulls no punches. I mean it is in your face. It is a strange beer with a bitter finish but not hop bitter. Odd.

What a unique beer this one is! The aroma does indeed have a slight (VERY slight) hint of citrus, but it and the ginger are more evident in the taste. Colour is nothing spectacular, but overall a lovely one to drink. Also, the bottle is a beauty, being a reproduction of a 1770s flask-shaped oval bottle.

courtesy of Tony Flkiger - hazy dark orange colour, no foam left; indeed: lemon and ginger in the nose, good malt body, sweet with a late dry bitterness; more lemony and spicy aftertaste - very decent

Medicinal antiseptic champagne odor. Translucent golden color with no head. Tastes more like medicine with hints of lemon zest. Ginger taste kicks in with the finish. Interesting concept that didnt work.

Had this beer on 5/3/2002. Aroma is like a fresh cut lime. Color is a deep gold with light carbonation and a very light head. Taste is, OH not good. Starting with a medium body goes down with a sharp flavor coming on. Finish is where the bad comes out with a vengeance. It starts with a sharp feel that turns to a harsh and dry ginger taste then this peppery lemon flavor comes up. Overall this is one of the worst beers Ive ever had. The only good thing about this beer is the drastically misconceiving aroma which make you think going to be a refreshing citrus brew like a light Hefe. I wouldnt drink this be again even if it were free.

Cask @ Jerusalem Tavern, London. Pours a hazy golden color with no head. Fruity spicy ginger aroma with some hints of lemon. Fruity and slightly sharp ginger flavor with some hints of lemon in the background. Fruity ginger finish.

I tried this from the LCBO around 2005, and although I didnt really like it, I found it quite interesting. The aroma of ginger was very pleasant, but the taste was so dominated by the ginger that it barely resembled beer.
