Benzai's rating

   AROMA 6/10   APPEARANCE 3/5   TASTE 6/10   PALATE 3/5   OVERALL 11/20
Benzai (16681) - Oirschot, THE NETHERLANDS, - FEB 14, 2013
Bottle shared with Dutchdrebus. Slightly unclear yellow color, small white head that diminishes quickly but leaves fair lacing. Lots of peat in the aroma. Taste has even more peat, peated whisky, slightly fingerpaint I used as a kid and malts. I think it’s exactly what was intended and I guess it’s nice if you like peated beers but it’s not my thing.

Erzengel (9446) - Wuppertal, GERMANY - DEC 24, 2015
Old rating, best before 01 Aug 12. Nice smooth and smokey beginning. Intense and round, sweetish hints. The beer i not as complex as the "Whisky-version", but still nice smokey with a smooth but a bit sweetish body. Nice stuff!

Stuu666 (14805) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - MAR 5, 2015
Bottle at home. Pours clear golden, nose is peat smoke, wood, caramel, taste is similar, quite dry.

Lowenbrau (4725) - Asturias, SPAIN - JUL 14, 2014
500ml bottle. @home 14-07-2014.
BBD: out of date for one year.
In short: smokey one.
Pours hazy dark gold with little white head. Short head retention, some lacing. Intense smokey aromas. Medium body, soft carbonation, oily texture. Taste is basically smokey, some lingering sweet notes. Unbalanced.

Beerhunter111 (22401) - P´Castle, GERMANY - APR 24, 2014

tmrmwel (2269) - Bergen, NORWAY - FEB 17, 2014
Bottle. Pours light golden with a very big creamy head. Aroma is burned malts and pleasant whiffs of whisky. Full body with soft carbonation. Flavour is roasted malts with peat and smoke, as well as caramel and grain, and with a long smoky finish. Surprisingly nice.

abad (72) - USA - SEP 9, 2013
Smoke aroma. Very peaty low sweeterness. Appearence little foggy. Smells like a whisky but tastes like a beer.

vipinvelp (4539) - Velp, NETHERLANDS - JUL 4, 2013
Clear light copper yellow with small white foam ring. Arom is dominated by smokey charcoal. Taste is quite smokey, but still very fresh. Aftertaste is lasting, nice bitter. (Velp 201307)

Sissio (1747) - Orsenigo, ITALY - JUN 24, 2013
A smoked good beer. Different from what I expected. A beer that seems a whisky. Good for reading drinking...

TorbenH (1089) - Frederikshavn, DENMARK - MAY 18, 2013

Sorry I don't like smoke beers and like this one less than many thin and very smokey. Very peat and earth in smell and taste. Ill pass ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
