A deep ruby red strong ale with an excellent balance of malt sweetness and hop bitterness. A classic example of a ’winter warmer’; high in alcohol and rich in taste.

Papsoe (25062) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - AUG 7, 2006
(Bottle 50 cl) Pours a warm, reddish mahogany with a small, off-white head. Plums and prunes in the aroma - very delicate. Medium body - the alcohol is surprisingly well hidden - it just appears warming. Notes of roasted malt, dried fruit and perhaps some wood. Discreet bitterness. Extremely characterful and flavourful beer. 010806
