COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The St. Sebastiaan Dark is a dark, medium to heavy high fermented abbey beer that tastes both sweet and bitter on the tongue. This St. Sebastiaan has a strong, sweet aroma of caramel and malt and gives you a full taste in the mouth. It is re-fermented on the jug and on the bottle by the brewery. The result is a nice, clear beer with a wonderful aroma and, for those who love it, a nice touch of yeast at the bottom of the bottle.

Bottle picked up at Jungle Jims from backlog notes. Pours brown in color with a small off white head. The aroma and flavor have toasted bready malts, ddark fruits, a hint of chocolate, a light nutty character, a splash of yeast, age is a question.

Alengrin (5262) - BELGIUM - OCT 12, 2014
One of Sterkens’ ’kruikenbieren’, dark brown, malty, sweet and yeasty with some complexity, but a bit thin body, like most of the Sterkens ales.

Bottle. Deep brown with a huge beige head. Aroma of prunes, raisins, light roast and yeast. Sweet dried fruits favors, coffee and caramel, slightly soapy, mild bitter finish. Medium bodied, fizzy, sticky mouthfeel. Ok.

Barwa: ciemna, pod światło rubinowa, klarowna. Piana koloru kremowego, dość obfita, drobno i średnio pęcherzykowa, ładnie oblepiająca szkło. [4/5] Aromat: słodki, cukierkowy, ciemne słody, lekka nuta alkoholowa i ...

Aromas of caramel and raisins. Taste is sweet and full of caramel. Body is weak and watery. Meh.

An interesting beer some some yeast flavors coming through. It has an old time flavor to it.

3.5
Beerenberger (1605) - Fischer, Texas, USA - FEB 25, 2014
Aromas of hay, raisins, spice and cola. An opaque dark brown pour with a robust, but short lived tan head, producing fine lacing. The overall taste is fragely sweet. Cola, Belgina yeast, with hints of raisins. Medium body with medium carbonation. Carbonated mouthfeel. Overall, enjoyable but not necessarily outstanding.

polaxis (73) - SWITZERLAND - FEB 15, 2014
500 ml capped stoneware bottle, with swingtop, at home @10°C large and lasting off-white to beige head. Beer is completely dark. Malty with hints of caramel and chocolate aroma. Balance between sweetness and hoppyness is just a tick on the sweet side, but still very balanced. Very good beer, would definitely buy again.
