Strange 500ml bottle with a pry off cap & a flip top cap as well. Stoneware bottle, not glass. Poured out a light golden -orangish color, with a tight, white head. Aromas mostly of tropical fruits, papaya, guava, pineapple, kiwi fruit, some banana, and anise.
Tastes rather strong at first, like licorice, with a fruity background. Strong malt flavors as well. Peppery tang to it also. Finishes dry, but sweet. A really nice Belgian beer in my book. Too bad it's so expensive. $10 for a 500 ml bottle. mixamatt (427) - San Francisco, California, USA - SEP 25, 2003

A very nice golden cloudy color, with a sick white head that isn't huge, yet stays around the entire time. Has a serious traditional belgian aroma to it, acid and hay. Has a thick leather belt body to it. Very nice, very refreshing. tjp68 (31) - Washington, Missouri, USA - MAY 18, 2007
Ceramic bottle from beergeek.biz. Large head, but overall light carbonation. Complex flavor that changes from the tip of the tongue to the back of throat. Strong caramel flavor in the middle. I love this. Will definitely seek it out again. Jerre (3399) - Waregem, BELGIUM - APR 25, 2008

UPDATED: NOV 12, 2012 500mL ceramic swingtop bottle. Poured hazy golden into goblet with big white head and nice lacing. Aromas fruit, yeast and pepper. Taste is slightly bitter with some spice and pepper. A truly enjoyable Belgian ale with medium body and lovely carbonation. chronictonic (472) - Oreland, Pennsylvania, USA - DEC 7, 2013
Bottle. Pours cloudy golden with thick white head. Aroma is mild and leans towards candy sweet. Mouthfeel has pleasant carbonation. Flavor is medium bodied. Some candy beat sugar flavors, but not overpowering. Mild hop finish cleanses the sweetness away leaving you ready for the next sip.

7,6% alc. 50 cl bottle bought at Alcampo, served in La Trappe chalice. Pours copperish amber with huge ivory head. Aroma is orange, iron filings, cookie dough, white flowers. Round, full-bodied, slightly sweet and slightly bitter. Long lasting. Not bad, although it seems too expensive to me (6,30€ per half litre). I agree that it comes with a nice bottle one might keep for water, though. bjakk (780) - Skagafjordur, ICELAND - AUG 25, 2015
Light golden, clear with nice white foam. Mild citrus. Soap in the aroma. Malt, toffee. Sweet fruit with mild bitterness in the aftertaste. High in carbon. badhack (554) - San Francisco, California, USA - OCT 21, 2016
Medium toast and malt, a little yeast, touch of honey, herbal. Large, heavy stone-line container. Somewhat complex, but mostly smooth with a unique combination of flavors that works well.
