My favorite. Good head, you can taste the chocolate hops. More for the bolder beer lovers VENOM (941) - Connecticut, USA - AUG 2, 2001
Excellent interpretation of the style. Nice toasted chocolate malt flavor with a nice bitter twang. Darkover (1540) - Columbus, Ohio, USA - SEP 26, 2001

Tasting Notes from Fall 2000: Smoky, chocolatey. Good bitterness that works very well with its mild sweetness MaxPower (961) - St. Louis, Missouri, USA - JUN 22, 2002
I didn't know this was a stout,Roasted malt flavor, nice hop bitterness.....

This was a nice quality beer. Not quite my style, but obviously a good beer. austinpowers (2832) - San Francisco, California, USA - OCT 11, 2002
This is an unusual twist on the alt style, IMHO. It's an extremely roasty, chocolatey altbier that's heavy on some nice malt and possesses solid hop balance. Very enjoyable. Schroppfy (2360) - Łódż, Warsaw, Poland; Michigan, Ohio, USA - APR 21, 2002
Very interesting twist on a Sweet Stout/Cream Stout style. First off, the color is the lightest for the syle I've seen. Second, the heavy malt AND hop aroma straight outta the bottle is a killer. Head dies immediately - quicker than my dogs eat their food. Seriously roasted bitterness. Thinner than I expected. Yet, under it all, good.

From old tasting notes. Splendid deep mahogany brown color. Immense creamy tan head tops off a cascade of fine bubbles. Sweetish roasted malt aroma with hints of chocolate and cinnamon. Roasted malt coffee-like flavor with very little carbonation.mmore reminiscent of a bock than an Alt. Lacks body, though somewhat flavorful. Bittersweet hoppy finish. beerguy101 (5360) - Newark, California, USA - OCT 4, 2002
Dark brown color, Medium head. Roasted malts, nearly no hops, little bitterness. Nice, simple beer. Good flavor.
