The 3MONTS beer : A wonderful return to nature, with its flavour of yesteryear, this is a beer that was drawn from the wooden metal-circled barrels to fill so many mugs in our Flanders bars! Its bitterness comes from our hop fields scattered throughout the region. Brewed by infusions, it is an old-fashioned rising beer made with strong and hearty Flemish hops. Fermented using top yeasts, like the barrel brewers of yore and clamped like bonderised barrels.

75cl bottle at Granny’s house in Hazebrouck, France. Also on tap at Het Hoek Kerk. Pours clear gold, large white head. Aroma is light herbs, with a sugary sweetness. Taste has some floral elements, honey, yeast.. fairly light in flavour and generally quite light for the strength. Pleasant enough for an afternoon beer, but fails to stand up against others classic BdGs.

Drank this one straight from the bottle. A bit of honey, some dry hoppiness, a little malty. A decent beer ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle into glass. Earthy leather aroma. Pours a clear pale with white head. Taste is light to medium sour. Medium bodied with a creamy texture and a long finish. A very interesting beer with lots of character.

Aged a few years bottle at home. Very different to fresh. Sediment, cloudy blonde colour, still a big head. Spice, vanilla and marzipan, which I have never found before in this beer or any beer for that matter. I’m a big fan of amaretto so for that the aged trois monts gets an A+.

Huge frothy white head with very good retention. Clear golden yellow. Soft aroma, malty, almost no hop, slight bread and honey. Taste has some bitterness and dryness, medium sweet malty, spicy and yeasty. Some alcohol presence, some caramel too. Crispy palate.

[backlog] 31-12-15 / bottle at home, bought in France. A lot of foam, typical Biere de Garde. Well carbonated. Medium sweet body. Bitter finish. I started rating my beers with Untappd and a few basic notes. Now I want to rate them on ratebeer. So my rating sometimes lack some information. Just ignore it, it is for my personal statistics. Untappd-Rating 2.75/5

Bottle. Clear gold, white head with strong lacing. Yeasty aromas of bugglegum and banana, stone fruit, lemon blossom, horse blanket and a caramel finish. Rich, boozy flavours fo bubblegum, honey, slight nuttiness and pleasant sweetness. Great beer with a cheese plate.
