The 3MONTS beer : A wonderful return to nature, with its flavour of yesteryear, this is a beer that was drawn from the wooden metal-circled barrels to fill so many mugs in our Flanders bars! Its bitterness comes from our hop fields scattered throughout the region. Brewed by infusions, it is an old-fashioned rising beer made with strong and hearty Flemish hops. Fermented using top yeasts, like the barrel brewers of yore and clamped like bonderised barrels.

   AROMA 6/10   APPEARANCE 4/5   TASTE 6/10   PALATE 3/5   OVERALL 10/20

Pours a clear and fizzy pale yellow with a fantastic white head, sticks around for quite some time. The aroma is very grassy, I get a touch of lemony-citrus but little else. The flavour is not quite as disappoint6ing, but almost. The beer is quite grassy and grainy - similar to the Asian lagers. There is a strong grassy flavour, with a touch of vnilla and caramel, but there is not enough on the malt flavour to truly challenge the grassy hops which leaves an incredibly disappointing flavour on the palate. This could have been a fantastic beer but just did not have enough to challenge the grassy profile. Had promise, but did not pull through in the end - a glorified Steinlager.

Bottle, shared at July THT, in front of Kwartje. Last time I had this was probably in the ’90s. Clear golden yellow color. Off white head. Aroma’s: fruit, cardboard, perfumey. Retronasal there’s some cork, fruit, sweetness. Flavor is moderate sweet, a bit alcoholic. Medium bodied. I seem to remember this as a decent bière de garde, but this is just a bland strong blond.

From Alcampo. In Teku glass. Installing W10. What a dissapointment after hearing good things about it. Very alcoholic, with some herbal notes to improve it a bit but still nothing enjoy

Aranyló szín, nagy, de gyorsan vékonyodó hófehér hab. Illata nem túl erőteljes, fűszeres, friss kenyeres. Édesen indul, majd onnan fordul száraz keserű utóízbe. Finom volt.

ardeo (427) - Flémalle, BELGIUM - JUN 18, 2017
Bottle 75. Aspect : blonde claire, mousse blanche à moyennes bulles. Nez : plutôt discret, herbacé, levure, épicé. Bouche : épicée (coriandre), herbes, grain, citron avec une finale sèche et amertume assez persistante. Bonne bière flamande.

Lore (2747) - Budapest, HUNGARY - JUN 2, 2017
crystal clear golden colour, huge, white head; aroma of grains, bread, wine cellar, floral and slight fruity notes, as well as some linden honey and earth; taste is dominated by honey sweetness with grainy, yeasty and some white wine notes; spicy alcoholic aftertaste; enjoyable beer’
