COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Amber beer (8 % alc. / vol.) refermented in the bottle. A speciality beer brewed over lees in winter using the first malt and hops from the last harvest. Roasted malts give it its characteristic amber hue. Obtained by top fermentation, the "Biere Nouvelle" is characterised by fruity flavours and a good bite. Biere Nouvelle must be served with care (leaving behind the fine yeast sediment) at about 10°C. Available from February while stocks last in 750 ml bottles corked and stamped

You can certainly tell that this beer was made ihn France because the aroma and flavor is reminescent of a red wine that is very rich in flavor. I problalbly make this rating because this is the first sampling of this style.

Clear amber color with a thick off white head. Extremely high carbonation and a lively mouthfeel. The nose shows white grape and apples. Pears and brioche on the palate. Medium finish.

Golden color, large beige head. Crisp aromas of citrus, tropical fruits, yeast and some alcohol. Fresh taste of citrus, floral hops, bananas and slight alcohol. Solid.

Bottle, 75cl. Hazy golden colour with a white frothy head. Grainy aroma with a light tone of citrus. Soft grainy flavour with a taste of yeast. A clear bitterness. Average carbonation & body.

Good deal of carbonation with a thick white head and a slightly orange-yellow appearance. Yeasty, musty nose. Slightly metallic and a light sour, tart component as well. This beer improved much as the carbonation settled and the complex subtleties of the beer shone through.

75cl bottle, bought in grocery in Cassel, France. Unfiltered yellow coloured with unstable white head. Smell: some alcohol. taste: yeasty, malty, much alcohol, some industrial taste. Not bad for a french beer, but some overrated ale.

Franzen (576) - SWEDEN - JUN 6, 2014
Funky, tart aroma with banana and stable elements. Clear golden white head. Malty sweet taste with lots of bread in combination with a fair bit of tartiness. Light body, lively carbonation dry. A really light and refreshing beer despite its alcohol content

Bottled. This beer is reminiscent of red wine or champagne. Pours a light orange color with a snow white head. It finishes like wine, but perhaps not as bitter. This 750mL bottle was well worth the $7.00 I paid for it.

A faint hint of vanilla, some spiciness, a lot of grain...the flavors seem hard to quantify. I’m pretty sure I like it, though if I’d known it was French and not Belgian, I wouldn’t have bought it.

Hopefully this is the right beer. Had some trouble figuring out if it was the regular 3 monts or this one. Anyway. Fluffy white head that floated atop a copper body. Good lacing too. Sour lemon aroma mixed with some cheese, cobweb, and alcohol. Interesting for sure. Dry alcohol, sourness, spicey, musty tatste. But all very subtle. Rather tasty and interesting.
