Amber beer (8 % alc. / vol.) refermented in the bottle. A speciality beer brewed over lees in winter using the first malt and hops from the last harvest. Roasted malts give it its characteristic amber hue. Obtained by top fermentation, the "Biere Nouvelle" is characterised by fruity flavours and a good bite. Biere Nouvelle must be served with care (leaving behind the fine yeast sediment) at about 10°C. Available from February while stocks last in 750 ml bottles corked and stamped

(750ml bottle) Pours a clear golden body with a medium white head. Aroma of perfume, florals, mustiness, lightly candish, and some citrus. Flavor of yeast, florals, grass, clove, and some orange peel with a dry finish.

750ml bottle, vintage 2013, 8 % abv, from Systembolaget, Luleå, via Gaute. Champagne cork that gave a good shot followed by smoke when opened. Close to clear golden body. Dense, white head blanketing the glass. Sweet fruit and malts on the nose added by vapour of alcohol. Sweet wheat, honey, and sweet, fruity caramel to the taste buds. Soft and sweet fruity ending. Notable alcohol. Rather easy to drink. Far from great, gives a bland impression (session in Tromsø, 30.07.2013).

I had this beer many years ago at one time when I was only giving ratings to the beers but was too lazy and stupid to write down my thoughts. I will update this as soon as I get my hands on this beer again.

Bottle, bought @ Skjold Burne, Aarhus.
2011 edition. Pours clear darkish golden with a big, frothy, white head. Good lacings. Aroma has sweet malts, apricot, caramel, wine gums, pear. Mild pineapple. Highish carbonation, creamy and full. Flavour is lovely malty with a tartish twang to it. Doughy, light biscuity, citrus, some hay and grass. Lingering mild bitter and creamy finish. Nice.

UPDATED: NOV 26, 2015 A real farmhouse. Horseblanket aroma with beige head. Tasty and drinkable biere de garde. Grassy, grainy, sweet start and bitter but balanced finish. Understated carbonation. Not the best but still a good example of the style, and a superior French effort. Had it 8 plus years later and yeast was fine but boozy.Better though so upgrade.

bottle from kihoskh. 2011 red stamp. Corked and cork held in place by a large metal clip. Very unusual, looks very rudimentary. When openng the bottle some beer gushed out, leaving approx 60cl of the 75cl originally in the bottle. The gushing died out quickly. Clear golden, smooth small offwhite head. Flowery and fruity aroma, citrussy hint - aroma reminds me of a belgian blonde. Flavor is yellow fruity, yeasty, faint citrussy or sour tinge, otherwhise dry, but sweet yellow fruity. reminds me of a messy belgian blonde, but in fact an okay belgian style beer. Better than the many boring biere de garde i’ve had from france. Alc. well used, flavor well adjusted to the strength.

Bottle @ home. Slightly hazy red-orange appearance with a pretty big orangish white head. Sweet, yeasty, and slightly wild Belgian ale aroma. Slightly yeasty, golden, yeasty Belgian ale flavor. A bit of sourness and some yeast on the Belgian ale finish.

jercraigs (10374) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - AUG 21, 2006
Amber body with a moderate creamy head. (3+). Aroma of alcohol, light yeast and malt, dry. Very dry flavour with noticeable alcohol and a touch of pale malt, light bitterness. Average palate is quite effervescent. Average at best. 5/3+/6/3/12
