Slightly hazy amber color, short off-white head. Aroma of caramel malt, some hops. Taste is quite bitter, bit fruity, some malt and grain. Alcohol is well hidden. However, nothing special about this one. rsmeds (228) - Turku, FINLAND - JAN 29, 2006
Pours a hazy copper orange, with a small white head.
Dry, fruity aroma with a musty apple character.
The apples return in the dry, somewhat alcoholic flavor. Very much like calvados, in fact!
Unfortunately, it’s a wee bit watery, and has an annoyingly bubbly, carbonated mouthfeel. Quite original nevertheless. GregClow (3402) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - AUG 27, 2006
Bottle shared with blankboy, HogTownHarry, jerc, tupalev & mds - courtesy of HogTownHarry. Light orange with a large white head. Aroma is dry, yeasty, a bit funky. Flavour is - well, kind of boring. A bit of spice, a bit of yeast, a bit of fruit - it’s nice enough, but very subdued. At least it hides that 8% very well... mds (2250) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - SEP 4, 2006
Bottle. Shaded amber-orange body with a large frothy white head. The aroma is mostly of bread and yeast. Prickly carbonation with bready malt accents and little interesting flavour. Mostly sweet and modest. Radek Kliber (7320) - Toronto (Can) Krotoszyn (Pol), POLAND - DEC 10, 2006
Bottle @ Decemberfest.
Fine light haze, medium carbonation with very large creamy top. (3+)
Light, continental hop aroma, saaz like hops, gentle green bitters followed by sweet malt.
Strong font, slightly sour in character, creamy, butter like middle. Light semi0dry alcoholic finish. Nose was cleaner than flavours. (6+)

Bottle, 75cl. Hazy golden colour with a white frothy head. Grainy aroma with a light tone of citrus. Soft grainy flavour with a taste of yeast. A clear bitterness. Average carbonation & body. larsniclas (7039) - Billdal, SWEDEN - MAY 12, 2007
Deep golden. Frothy, white head.
Fruity aroma with warm alco-notes.
Fresh and spicy flavour; pepperish.
Lively and rather salty finish. Sammy (12099) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - JUL 7, 2007
UPDATED: NOV 26, 2015 A real farmhouse. Horseblanket aroma with beige head. Tasty and drinkable biere de garde. Grassy, grainy, sweet start and bitter but balanced finish. Understated carbonation. Not the best but still a good example of the style, and a superior French effort.
Had it 8 plus years later and yeast was fine but boozy.Better though so upgrade. pilsnerrogge (2935) - Finspång, SWEDEN - JUL 11, 2007
UPDATED: JUN 17, 2011 [75 cl corked bottle] Hazy orange colour. Big frothy head. Grainy aroma. Sweet, spicy (anise/fennel) flavour. Dry finish with notes of alcohol.EnSiFeRuM (501) - Quebec, CANADA - AUG 24, 2008
2011 bottle, 10% abv:
Clear, deep golden colour. Frothy head. Sweet, wheaty aroma with notes of smoke, caramel and marshmallows. Sweet, wheaty flavour with notes of marzipan, anise and alcohol.
