Bottle from Beamish Museum. Hazy pale golden coloured with a large foamy white head. It has a light citrus and grapefruit flavour followed by floral and peppery hops on the light smooth finish. Ok, but needs more hops.

Cask pint at Stables Brewery / Beamish Hall, Durham (£3.00):
A fairly poor to average beer on the whole & I can’t see it being one that I’ll remember too much about in a couple of months given how bland it came through for the most part. There was some pleasant biscuit malts & the odd earthy patch but beyond that there wasn’t too much of anything to grab your attention or keep you interested. Some subtle grassy flavours & a bit of citrus helped liven things up but there just wasn’t enough of them to make this one an enjoyable beer that I’d consider having again sadly.

Cask at the Stables, Beamish Hall. Gold colour, white foam head leaving lacing and aroma of light malts. Taste is biscuity, malt, grain, caramel, citrusy grapefruit and earthy bitterness. Light bodied, medium carbonation, dry tangy bitter finish. Quite OK.

Cask. Slightly hazy golden colour with a small white head. Aroma is bready malts, some slight nectar, grapefruit and mild honeylike sweetness. Flavour is quite bitter with grass and floral notes with some sweet malts as well as some slight honeylike notes. More golden ale than bitter imho.

Golden with white head. Nice aroma with a touch of lemon. Floral and fruity with malt backbone.

UPDATED: MAY 30, 2016 Pint at the Stables brewery. Citrus aroma, Hazy yellow with a dense white head. Medium bodied bitter taste, thin, with not much finish. Felt like something I have had a thousand times before. Not bad, just bland and boring Re-rate. Several pints in the Black Horse Gateshead, while watching the Championship play off game. Suspect they have tinkered with the recipe, as this sample was more IPA like. Cereal aroma, well balanced caramel grapefruit and tropical fruit flavour. Pleasantly dry finish.
