Awesome can from BlackIPA,
aroma, sweet maltness, corn too
taste, smooth and strong, hides alchol well!, malty backbone
overall, nice I really liked this one! jmagnus87 (2912) - Rockford, Illinois, USA - APR 9, 2013
24oz can from StFun for FBW 2013. Thanks! Pours a slightly cloudy dark orange with minimal head. Aroma is sweet citrus. Apricots and peaches in there too. Taste is boozy and heavily sweet. Sugar covered dried apricots, cotton candy and green apple. Full bodied with a sticky texture. Lively carbonation and a long, boozy finish. Overall, not half bad. The 12%abv is actually pretty well hidden. Bockyhorsey (2627) - Mesa, Arizona, USA - OCT 6, 2011
King Can. Heavy malt and corn aroma. Golden body with big fiszzy head on first pour second well thick flatt. Flavor some carmel malts in there with some corn and heavey alcohol. Not very smooth on the palate but this one is bareable. Palate leaves you say christ I need some water to wash this awefull aftertaste from the mouth just like the style calls for. Decent brew but will leave the eyes heavy and ready for nap. Out ..... CapFlu (5129) - Victoria, British Columbia, CANADA - FEB 3, 2012
(24oz can) Thanks to Enniskillen. Pours thin white head atop a clear golden body. Nose of honey white wine. Not too bad, considering. Thinking others are somewhat harsh. Good for what it is... And much better than majority of malt-bomb hi-ABV. Good.

All right, so it ain’t Orval Trappist. But at 12% abv, it gets the proverbial "JOB" done. So pick up a can or two posthaste and down’em now! THE STACK IS AN EXCEPTIONAL ALCOHOL DELIVERY SYSTEM -- I mean, think about it, neighbor -- 24 ounces @12%abv -- that’s the equivalent of 4.8 12 oz. cans/bottles of 5% abv brew....
TWO OF THESE IN SHORT SUCCESSION AND YOUR IN BUSINESS, PAL!

A: The pour is a crystal clear pale golden color with an initially fluffy white head.
S: The nose is sweet and almost corn syrup like, but not the usually offensive aromas of malt liquor.
T: Like the nose before it, this one is surprisingly decent. I found the sweetness of this beer to be almost like apple juice.
M: The body is obviously lacking in this one, but not to the extent of many other malt liquors. The finish is crisp and actually moderately refreshing.
D: This is easily the best malt liquor that I’ve had. While it is very sweet, I found it to be lacking in the usually bad traits of malt liquors. If you’re ballin’ on a budget, this one might be for you. DietPepsican (1592) - @ $13.99, Iowa, USA - NOV 25, 2012
I can’t get behind malt lickas much higher than 8 or 9%. A few in the 10% range are good but the swill factor goes down quite a bit after that. Gold pour, lots of booze, creamed corned casserole, egg nog spice, cereal, and a bit of musty floor. Boozy finish, lots of carbonation for the ABV. puboflyons (3466) - Allenstown, New Hampshire, USA - SEP 6, 2010
From the 24 fl. oz. can 1161-2008. Hmm, I did not realize there was a craft malt liquor like this out there. I am so used to seeing malt liquors from A-B and Miller. As for this one it pours a decent looking golden color with a quick burst of white fizzy head. The aroma is bold with barley, grains and malts but does not carry the metallic scent you get with the national macros. The taste lives up to the malt liquor tradition with a pungent alcohol sourness coupled with barley malts and some muted bitter hops. I appreciate the brewer’s effort. ronaldtheriot (1977) - Laplace, Louisiana, USA - APR 26, 2010
Stack High Gravity Smooth Lager has a surprisingly thick, white head and relatively good amount of carbonation. The appearance is a slightly cloudy orange-gold color. Aroma is sharp and stinging, which a fruity and overwhelming alcohol smell. The taste is very harsh and apple predominates. Actually, Stack tastes more like wine than beer. Certainly, this beer is not bland, but I’m not sure "good" makes its way into the discussion. Mouth-feel is heavy and wet. This drink has little to no lacing.

bottle... murky light honey gold, light off white head... the nose is really sweet, honey with wet grains but light overall... pretty easy to drink at first, just sweet, honey and corn, the finish becomes too bitter and dry with a chemical bite... pretty decent for a 12% malt liquor
