3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Draught at the Black Door, Helsinki. If you don’t like this you don’t like Chinook. Very cloudy, scrumpy-like, orange coloured ale. Some head. Aroma is fruity, followed by a good mix of flavours. It is light, as expected from the abv. Hop flavours are very pronounced. There is a good deal of grapefruit, some orange, and plenty of floral and resiny perfume. Slightly aggressive bitter note reminiscent of chloride that goes away as you finish the glass. When you get half way through it leaves you thinking, "ah, I could have another one of these". Very pleasant overall, wouldn’t mind having it on tap in the UK, plus it is the best single hop Chinook I’ve had this far.
Draught@Pub Nellu. Golden colour, small white head. Aroma is fruity, toffeeish, some floral and mild acidic wooden notes. Flavour is very similar, but also has some slight berries to it. RexTalionis (3775) - FINLAND - FEB 25, 2013
