Aroma has roasted notes, coffee and licorice. Flavour has well roasted malt, some salty licorice, coffee notes and hints of soy sauce. Quite good for a 6,5% stout and one of the best StaPa beers.

Helsinki, sampled 2010-02-10) Almost black with a small but creamy, lacy and lasting head. Wonderful nose with licorice, roasted malt, some dark fruitiness. Flavor is chocolatey and licorice-malty, smooth and very roasty without being too burned. Medium to full body, creamy-foamy palate with slightly tingling CO2. A very balanced and enjoyable brew from StaPa - one of the best Finnish beers.

Black, keggy head. Lovely gingery aroma. Big roasty body, and a big gingery hit. Big long tingly hoppy taste. Dang - this is back to the good old days when Stadin rocked massively. No compromise hoppy stout. Love it. (7:4:8:4:16=3.9)

Dark brown, almost opaque color, decent creamy tan head, lace. Coffeish, dark malty, but sticky burnt aroma. Medium to full bodied. Black coffee, dark roasted malts, cocoa and milk sugar. Long toasted aftertaste. Drinkable, but quite straightforward.
Draught at Willi Wäiniö. Real dark brown head. Dark color. Much chocolate aroma. Burnt malt that gives a malt acidity. A harsch bitterness. The taste laks both cofey and chocolate. mjs (7684) - Helsinki, FINLAND - FEB 13, 2010
(Draught at Olutkellari Helsinki) Poured black with medium sized and light brown head. Aroma contained roastedness, coffee, liquorice and sourness. Palate was medium bodied and dry with medium carbonation. Flavours were roastedness, hops, ash, sourness, bitterness and hint of coffee. Aftertaste was dry, ashy and bitter. A really good brew from StaPa. Well done.
