SaintMatty (7300) - Uppsala, SWEDEN - MAY 22, 2008
Draught (Minuutti Baar, Helsinki) - Light copper coloured with a haze. Hoppy aroma with grapefruit and an acidic tinge. The taste is initially quite tangy with the hops and grapefruit notes being fairly evident. An interesting beer and easy to drink.

Hm, I guess this is most likely what I had on tap (not cask) at the Pullman Bar a few days back; I should have made more of a point of finding out. I was a little disappointed because the real ale cask had just been finished off, but was still pleased with this pint. It started with a brassy caramel hue, topped by a white, whipped cream looking head. Orange and spruce hops dance about in the nose over a playground of sweet malt and dessert breads. Behind that lurk peaches and grapes, perhaps a bit of leather as well. The flavour begins with a light caramel taste alongside some malts and breads. Acidity in the form of oranges and grapes becomes noticeable around mid-palate, flowing into a finish of flowers, spruce and orange zest. Respectable bitterness. At times there’s a vague hint of citrus scented cleaning solution. Medium bodied, maybe just over, with a watery texture and moderate carbonation. Solid aroma and looks, falls a little behind on the flavour and mouthfeel. Unfortunate that this brewer is no longer with us.

KnutAlbert (6754) - Oslo, NORWAY - JUL 6, 2007
Draught at Pullmans, July 2007. Fine English style bitter, smooth with enough malt and hops to make a lovely long lingering aftertaste. Many English breweries would be proud of an ale like this. The tail of the finish is a mit medical, maybe because this was the first glass to be pulled that day. Sad to discover a new fine brewery only after its closed down.

omhper (24966) - Tyresö, SWEDEN - JUN 21, 2007
Cask at Pullman Bar, Helsinki. Clear brownish amber. Fruity apricoty nose with toffee and grass underneath. Sweet and medium bodied with fairly soft mouthfeel. Flowery and hop aromatic with well structured caramelly malt. Medium bitterness.

FatPhil (15964) - Tallinn, ESTONIA - JUN 9, 2007
UPDATED: JUL 16, 2007 Note: The formulation has varied a bit over time. Draught (Pullman bar, Helsinki) Toffee colour, not completely clear. Unbelievably lively, hard to pull. Toffee, ginger and orange aroma. Rich malty taste with loads of bitterness, citrus and ginger and a little bit of soap. Felt in some ways a little watery, but only in a refreshing way not a weak way.

berkshirejohn (6451) - Bracknell, Berkshire, ENGLAND - MAY 10, 2007
Hand pump at the Pullman Bar, Helsinki. Chestnut with a white head; fresh citrus aroma; sharply bitter with grapefruit tones, developing a tangy citrus sweetness. A well balanced bitter.

[email protected] Festival 2006. Quite a tasty bitter i think. Quite light in the mouthfeel, but very approachable and drinkable. Some nice earthy hops notes, which are also lightly floral. Finish is lightly salty and bitter.
