COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Gold Medal @ Dutch Beer Challenge 2016 Smaak: Dikke vloeibare bonbon Aroma: Ervaren!

33cl bottle at home. Pours a jetblack colour with a medium dense beige head with great retention. Aroma of tonka beans, vanilla, cocoa, slight bourbon-like sourness, mocca, roasted malt. Taste is fairly sweet, medium bitter with a medium dry finish. Notes of soaked wood, roasted malt, vanilla, slight tiramisu, nuts, caramel, dark malt. Texture thick at first but flattens to something a bit oily. Full bodied with soft carbonation

vami (542) - Poznan, POLAND - MAY 25, 2017
[Euro Beer Swap thanks to MonsterMagnet] Pours pitch black with creamy tan head. Aroma is of fennel (Sorachi), molasses, licorice, vanilla and chocolate. Taste is mainly vanilla, chocolate and a lot of licorice. Alcohol is warming but not disturbing. Full body, dense texture. Very good beer with an interesting taste profile. Alcohol gets more intrusive in time.

MelvinKalksma (1758) - NETHERLANDS - MAR 22, 2017

Aroma:
Medium/heavy aroma of malts, caramel, vanilla, chocolate, mocha, roasted malts, coffee and hops.

Appearance:
Opaque dark brown/black beer with a slight brown head.

Taste/Palate:
Starts medium/heavy sweet with malts, caramel, vanilla, chocolate and mocha; ends slightly bitter and dry with roasted malts, coffee and hops.

Overall:
This beer is intense, complex and balanced. Those bourbon soaked vanilla beans are so insanely amazing. Great amount of chocolate and coffee, thanks to those roasted malts, working perfectly with those vanilla to create some mocha along the way. Oh those Sorachi Ace hops in the finish, they work splendid in an Imperial Stout. Amazing beer overall.
