Murky brown with almost no head. Aroma is gummy bears, some phenols, wood, dried fruit, intense caramel, has more of a barley wine than a Doppelbock. Taste is intense malty bittersweetness, lots of wood and nuts, slight smokyness in the finish. Not smooth, not easy to drink. Not on point but still interesting and nice.

(bottle) very hazy deep amber colour with a small frothy off-white head. aroma of heavy hazelnuts and vanilla, quite ethanolic, with some notes of marzipan, sweet spices and rye bread. flavour is mostly the same, lots of shredded hazelnuts, ethanol and cocoa powder, with a light touch of plywood and some multi-grain bread. heavy-bodied with average carbonation.

Bottle. Hazy amber, low offwhite head. Lightly oxidized almond cake aroma. Medium light body, mellow, light stickt. Wooly oxidized, nutty, caramel notes, feels underattenuated, IKEA furniture. Light sticking a mealy mouthed tongue out of the window.

Bottle. Hazy orange color with a few white soap bubbles on top. Aroma is sweet, wood, meaty, hazelnut. Taste is hazelnut, wood, dusty, sweet malts, molasses. Natural carbonation. Not very well-balanced, unfortunately - I like the hazelnut flavors, though.

MoritzF (9851) - Ottobrunn, GERMANY - NOV 30, 2016
(bottle, 33cl, as Eichen-Bock) Hazy, deep golden to amber colour with a short and off-white foamy head. Sweet and molassy aroma with juicy malty notes, hints of wort and alcohol, also some oaky accents of Bourbon/vanilla. Sweet-bitter flavour, full bodied with a calm, if not tame carbonation. Slightly oily and juicy malty taste with notes of caramel, vanilla and a herbal hoppy edge, getting stronger and almost harshly bitter towards the alcoholic finish. Surprisingly hoppy at the very end but this melange simply does not fit together. 30.XI.16

Koelschtrinker (20216) - Köln (Cologne), GERMANY - SEP 25, 2016
Heller, wenig karbonisierter Antrunk. Erkennbarer süßer Alkohol, dennoch insgesamt eher wässrig. Trocken herb auf geringem Level, drückend süß zum Ende. Nicht wirklich ausgewogen. 8/6/6/6/9/6

2.7
boloney (81) - Srem, POLAND - AUG 29, 2016
UPDATED: OCT 1, 2016 W aromacie dominuje mocny alkohol, słabiej wyczuwalne chmiele i nuty fenolowe, kwiatowe typowe dla belgium strong ale. Piwo bardzo gęste (wręcz oleiste) o złocistej barwie. W smaku dominuje alkoholowość, dopiero z tyłu czuć karmelową słodycz. Pali w przełyk.
